The Marlins are expected to call up Pina from Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Thursday's game against the Phillies, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Pina has made 11 starts and two relief appearances with Jacksonville this season, posting a 3.47 ERA and 54:15 K:BB over 57 innings. The 26-year-old appears poised for a long relief role and will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

Misiorowski is slated to make his next start Friday against the Twins at Target Field.

Misiorowski originally lined up to make his second MLB start Wednesday against the Cubs, but a postponement due to inclement weather foiled those plans. The Brewers and Cubs are making up the postponed game as part of an Aug. 18 doubleheader, and rather than pushing Misiorowski back a day to start Thursday's series finale at Wrigley Field, Milwaukee will instead have ace Freddy Peralta take the hill on five days' rest. Misiorowski won't be a major beneficiary in the change in opponent; the Cubs' offense (115 wRC+) has been more productive against right-handers than the Twins' offense (103 wRC+) this season, but Minnesota has performed better since the beginning of June after getting players like Byron Buxton and Matt Wallner back from the injured list.

Montas (lat) struck out two and surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and one walk over five innings Wednesday in a rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse.

While he threw 80 pitches (47 strikes) in the longest outing of his six-start rehab stint, Montas didn't exactly look ready to make a contribution for the Mets in the majors. His rehab assignment ends next week, and unless a new injury restarts the clock, the 32-year-old righty will need to be activated from the 60-day injured list by Monday. New York is expected to call up Justin Hagenman from Triple-A to make a spot start or bulk relief appearance Friday against the Phillies, but the team hasn't yet decided whether Montas will move into the No. 5 spot in the rotation next week or get some time in the bullpen to try and find his form. Over his 18.2 innings in the minors between High-A Brooklyn and Triple-A, Montas posted a 12.05 ERA and 12:10 K:BB while serving up eight home runs.

Bailey went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Guardians.

Bailey returned to action after being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, following a six-game absence due to a neck strain. The 26-year-old singled in the third inning and added another one in the fifth before coming around to score on a two-run homer by Heliot Ramos. With that, Bailey delivered his sixth multi-hit performance of the season. He's now slashing .193/.251/.277 with 18 runs scored, 16 RBI, nine doubles, one home run and one triple across 184 plate appearances in 57 games this season.

The Diamondbacks transferred Montes De Oca (elbow/back) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

The transaction was made in order to free a spot on the 40-man roster for catcher Aramis Garcia, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Reno. Montes De Oca was initially shelved earlier this month with right elbow inflammation, and more recently, the Diamondbacks revealed that he needs surgery to repair a stress fracture in his back, which could sideline him for the rest of the season.

The Diamondbacks selected Garcia's contract from Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Garcia was up with Arizona briefly earlier this month, seeing action in one game as a defensive replacement. He will back up Jose Herrera at catcher while Gabriel Moreno (hand) is on the injured list.

The Diamondbacks placed Moreno on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right hand contusion.

Moreno was first injured back on June 6 when a wild pitch struck his hand. He has been in and out of the lineup since then and unable to get over the hump with the injury, so the Diamondbacks have elected to give him some extended down time. He'll be eligible for activation June 27 and should be ready to go at that time. Jose Herrera will serve as Arizona's primary catcher while Moreno is out, and Aramis Garcia has been called up from Triple-A Reno to serve as Herrera's backup.

Alvarez is slashing only .191/.286/.265 over his last 20 games with one home run and three RBI, but the Mets believe he's close to emerging from his slump, Tim Britton of the Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old catcher began revamping his swing mechanics in the offseason, but a fractured hamate bone this spring derailed Alvarez's progress, and he's struggled to get comfortable at the plate since coming off the IL. "The past week, I feel like he's hitting the ball in the air, hitting the ball hard - something we didn't see early on when he got back from the injury," Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday. "I like some of the takes with some of the breaking balls. I know he's working." The team has had internal discussions about optioning Alvarez to Triple-A until he turns things around, but a lack of catching depth in the organization makes that tricky, especially while he's still contributing defensively. Should that prove to be necessary, Luis Torrens would take over as New York's No. 1 catcher until Alvarez regains his confidence as a hitter.

The Cardinals recalled McGreevy from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.

McGreevy will be the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox and is slated to be the starting pitcher for the second game. The Cardinals are expected to return McGreevy to Memphis after the doubleheader, but he could be recalled next week to make another start if St. Louis wants to keep a six-man rotation in place during a busy portion of its schedule. McGreevy has yielded four runs with a 10:1 K:BB over 11.2 innings with the Cardinals this season and holds a 2.51 ERA and 64:12 K:BB across 61 frames in 2025 with Memphis.

Pages is absent from the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the White Sox.

Ivan Herrera will start at catcher and Alec Burleson will serve as the designated hitter for the Cardinals in the first game of Thursday's twin bill. Pages is a good bet to be behind the dish for the second contest.
