Suwinski is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Suwinski had started five of the past six games against right-handed pitching, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Reds send righty Hunter Greene to the bump. Tommy Pham will play right field and bat sixth for the Pirates.

Alvarez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing two hits and three walks across 4.1 scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Alvarez managed to keep Atlanta off the board Wednesday, though he was pulled with two outs in the fifth inning after throwing 83 pitches, just 42 of which were strikes. The 26-year-old Alvarez's MLB career has gotten off to a nice start overall. Through five starts (23.1 innings), the left-hander's allowed eight runs (six earned), posting a 1.11 WHIP with 20 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .184 batting average.

The Marlins recalled Wiemer from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Wiemer was just sent down Monday, but he's back to absorb the roster spot vacated by the injured Dane Myers (knee). The 26-year-old Wiemer could see some action in the outfield versus lefties in the final days of the season.

The Marlins placed Myers on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right knee laceration.

Myers suffered the injury during Tuesday's game in Philadelphia when he slammed into the chain-link fence at Citizens Bank Park while attempting a catch. He'll miss the rest of the season but should over a normal offseason.

Ferrer earned the save in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Atlanta, allowing a run on two hits while striking out two in the ninth inning.

Ferrer gave up a leadoff homer to Eli White in the ninth before bearing down to pick up his 10th save this year. The left-hander has been struggling of late, giving up six runs on nine hits in his last four appearances (five innings), though he appears to still have a grasp on the ninth-inning job. Overall, Ferrer's posted a 4.36 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and 68 strikeouts across 74.1 innings this season.

Wood went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Atlanta.

Wood has gone 4-for-7 with three homers and, notably, no strikeouts in his last two games. He'd gone 15-for-75 (.200) with a 42.9 percent strikeout rate in his previous 19 contests. Overall, the 23-year-old Wood is slashing .256/.352/.475 with 30 homers, 92 RBI, 86 runs scored and 15 stolen bases through 676 plate appearances this season.

Realmuto (finger) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Marlins, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Realmuto had to be lifted from Tuesday's game after taking a foul tip off his right index finger. X-rays came back negative and he should be fine, but Realmuto will sit out at least one contest. Rafael Marchan is catching and batting ninth for the Phillies on Wednesday.

Harper (illness) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Marlins, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harper is under the weather and will miss a second consecutive start. He is considered day-to-day. Otto Kemp will play first base and bat fifth for the Phillies.

Elder (8-11) took the loss Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing three runs on six hits over seven innings. He struck out seven.

While Elder was stuck with the loss, the right-hander made it through seven innings for the fourth time in his last six starts -- he's posted a 2.79 ERA in that span (38.2 innings). Elder will likely wrap up an up-and-down campaign with a 5.30 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 131:51 K:BB across 28 outings (156.1 innings).

The Phillies designated Walton for assignment Wednesday.

He's clearing out to make room on the roster for the return of Edmundo Sosa (groin). Walton played infrequently after being added to the roster earlier this month, logging a total of nine plate appearances.
