  • Liam Hicks C | MIA

Marlins' Liam Hicks: Collects trio of hits

Hicks went 3-for-4 with one RBI in Sunday's 11-1 win against the Orioles.

The 26-year-old rookie started at first base and notched his second game with three or more hits this season -- the first coming at Philadelphia on April 19. Hicks, who was a Rule 5 pick this past offseason, continues to garner plenty of looks in a strong-side platoon role with the Marlins. He has been a steady source of offense for the club thanks to a .274/.367/.411 slash line with four homers, 30 RBI and 19 runs scored across 198 total plate appearances in 64 games.

  • Sean Manaea RP | NYM

Mets' Sean Manaea: Loses in season debut

Manaea (0-1) allowed a run on five hits over 3.1 innings of relief Sunday. He struck out seven and took a loss against the Royals.

Manaea took over in the sixth inning after Clay Holmes tossed five frames. Manaea showed no signs of rust, racking up 13 whiffs, including 10 with his fastball that averaged 93 mph. He threw 44 of 63 pitches for strikes and didn't face much trouble until allowing a walk-off single to Nick Loftin in the ninth inning. Manaea is expected to move into the rotation after the All-Star break.

  • Kyle Stowers LF | MIA

Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Slugs three homers against O's

Stowers went 5-for-5 with three homers, six RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 11-1 victory over Baltimore.

The Miami outfielder had a career day against his former club, launching three long balls off Orioles starter Brandon Young. This marks the fourth multi-homer and first five-hit performance of Stowers' career. After this incredible effort, the 27-year-old is now slashing .293/.368/.543 with 19 homers, 54 RBI and 46 runs scored across 346 plate appearances as he heads to Atlanta to be the Marlins' All-Star representative Tuesday night.

  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Cruises to third win

Perez (3-2) earned the win in Sunday's contest at Baltimore, yielding three hits and no walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

The Miami right-hander notched his third consecutive victory, as he dominated the Orioles with 16 whiffs out of his 84 total pitches. The Baltimore lineup never threatened to score a run off Perez, who managed to contain his opponents to just four baserunners via a double, two singles and a hit-by-pitch. After a shaky 6.19 ERA across his first four starts, Perez has been masterful in his last three appearances with a 0.53 ERA, 0.41 WHIP and 21:1 K:BB across 17 innings.

  • Max Kranick RP | WAS

Mets' Max Kranick: Could need Tommy John surgery

Kranick is scheduled to meet with Dr. Keith Meister to receive a second opinion on his right elbow injury, and Tommy John surgery could be a possibility for the right-hander, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Kranick was placed on the 15-day injured list June 19 due to right flexor strain, and after being re-examined Thursday following a three-week rest period, the 27-year-old seemingly hasn't made enough progress in his recovery to start throwing. He'll receive feedback from Dr. Meister before a determination is made on his treatment plan, but Kranick could be at risk of requiring the second Tommy John surgery of his career, after he previously underwent the procedure in June 2022. Another Tommy John surgery would knock Kranick out for the remainder of the season and would likely sideline him for the entire 2026 campaign.

  • Jose Butto SP | SF

Mets' Jose Butto: Set to begin rehab assignment

Butto (illness) is scheduled to make a rehab appearance in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

New York placed Butto on the 15-day injured list July 4 after he came down with an illness, but the right-hander shouldn't be in line for an extended stay on the shelf. He may need just one or two rehab appearances before being cleared to return from the IL, possibly in advance of the Mets' first game out of the All-Star break Friday versus the Reds.

  • Shota Imanaga SP | CHC

Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Limits Yankees to one run in win

Imanaga (6-3) earned the win in Sunday's game against the Yankees, allowing one run on two hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out six.

The only blemish on the Chicago southpaw's performance was a solo homer conceded to Giancarlo Stanton in the second. Otherwise, Imanaga looked masterful on the road versus a New York team that entered this game ranked third in total runs scored. The Japanese star notched his first outing with five or more Ks since returning from a hamstring injury June 26. Imanaga has produced a 2.65 ERA, 0.93 and 48:16 K:BB across 68 total frames. The 31-year-old will likely draw his next start in the team's weekend series after the All-Star break against the Red Sox at home.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Swipes bag Sunday

Tatis went 2-for-3 with two walks and one stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Phillies.

Tatis has been an on-base machine over his last 15 games, going 18-for-55 (.327) with 13 walks in that span. He's also made the most of his chances on base, picking up five steals during the hot stretch, which has seen him collect just four extra-base hits. Tatis enters the All-Star break with a .269/.366/.451 slash line, and he's added 21 steals, 16 home runs, 42 RBI and 65 runs scored over 94 games this season.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Gets aboard four times in loss

Bogaerts went 2-for-2 with two walks and two stolen bases in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Phillies.

Bogaerts hadn't stolen a base since June 9 versus the Dodgers, and he hadn't attempted a steal since June 20 against the Royals. The All-Star break comes at a poor time for the shortstop, who is batting .385 (20-for-52) over his last 15 games after a fairly pedestrian first three months of the campaign. He's now at a .266/.344/.369 slash line with 15 steals, five home runs, 31 RBI and 39 runs scored over 94 contests.

  • Nick Pivetta RP | SD

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Strikes out eight in no-decision

Pivetta allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Sunday.

Pivetta had a sloppy first inning, but he limited the damage to one run in that frame. After some shaky pitching in early June, Pivetta has settled back in with just two runs allowed (one earned) across his last 25.1 innings over four starts, a span in which he's added a 31:5 K:BB. Overall, the right-hander is at a 2.88 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 122:29 K:BB through 109.1 innings over 19 starts, which are easily the best marks of his career.
