Cavalli is slated to start Monday's game against the Royals in Kansas City, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The 26-year-old right-hander will make his second straight turn through the rotation after he enjoyed an impressive return to the big leagues last Wednesday in what was his first MLB appearance since Aug. 26, 2022. Cavalli took a no-decision in his start against the Athletics, striking out six batters while allowing three hits and one walk over 4.1 scoreless innings. Despite Cavalli's excellent outing, fantasy managers may want to tread carefully with the rookie in what shapes up as a two-start week, with a second start likely to come during this weekend's series against the Phillies. Before rejoining the big club last week, Cavalli had logged an unremarkable 6.09 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 65 innings at Triple-A Rochester for the season, though he had posted a 14:0 K:BB in his final two starts prior to his call-up.

Pozo is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Rockies.

Pozo looked like he might be inching ahead of Pedro Pages in the Cardinals' catcher pecking order earlier this month, but it will be Pages behind the dish Monday for the fourth time across the last five contests.

Pages will start at catcher and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Rockies.

With four starts behind the plate in the last five games, Pages appears to have at least temporarily wrested the primary catching gig away from Yohel Pozo. Already regarded as the superior defensive catcher of the two, Pages has helped his case for earning more playing time by running hot at the dish to begin August. Through five games this month, Pages has gone 6-for-16 with two home runs, one double, two walks, six RBI and three runs.

Karros will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game in St. Louis.

After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Karros started at third base in all three games of the Rockies' weekend series in Arizona, going 4-for-11 with two doubles, two walks, three RBI and two runs. The 23-year-old will stick in the starting nine Monday and should have a chance to settle in as the Rockies' everyday option at the hot corner for the rest of the season if he can remain reasonably productive at the plate.

Walker is absent from the lineup for Monday's game versus the Rockies.

Walker had started each of the previous five tilts, but he will receive a day off in Monday's series opener. Lars Nootbaar is handling right field and Victor Scott will be in center field for the Cardinals.

Donovan (groin) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest against the Rockies.

Donovan will miss a third straight start as he battles left groin tightness. He is considered day-to-day. Thomas Saggese will fill in at second base and bat seventh in Donovan's stead.

McLain will start at second base and bat eighth in Monday's game versus the Phillies.

After receiving a day off Sunday, McLain is all the way down in the No. 8 spot Monday, which is the first time since June 21 that he's batted anywhere other than first or second in a start. McLain has collected jus a .648 OPS since the beginning of July. Spencer Steer has been elevated to the two hole for the Reds.

Hays is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Hays will take a seat for the second time in three games as the Reds make room in the lineup for Miguel Andujar, who will occupy the designated-hitter spot and bat cleanup while Gavin Lux covers left field. With Hays providing a meager .565 OPS since the All-Star break, he could be in danger of moving into more of a part-time role in the near future if he's unable to turn things around at the plate.

The Rockies designated Nola for assignment Monday.

The Rockies have been carrying three catchers for most of this month, but they will now go back to two backstops as Nola gets booted off the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster. Nola had played sparingly lately and will have the ability to elect free agency if he passes through waivers.

The Rockies recalled Dollander from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

Dollander will rejoin the Colorado rotation on Monday with a start in St. Louis. The right-hander posted a 6.68 ERA over 68.2 innings in 15 starts with the Rockies this season and held an 8.74 ERA and 1.85 WHIP in three starts with Albuquerque after being demoted in July. Those numbers make Dollander a risky fantasy proposition, even in more favorable matchups like the one he'll have Monday against the Cardinals.
