Diaz went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI during the Rays' 8-5 win over the Angels on Friday.

Diaz put the Rays on the board early, taking the second pitch he saw from Walbert Urena deep to right field for a leadoff home run. Diaz proceeded to kick-start the Rays' seven-run seventh inning with a two-run blast, marking his first multi-homer game since Aug. 2 against the Dodgers. He's up to 10 home runs on the season, six of which have come in 21 games since May 1. Diaz's .313 batting average leads the American League, and he also ranks sixth in the AL in OBP (.392) and seventh in both slugging percentage (.523) and hits (61) across 222 plate appearances.

Severino was removed from Friday's game against the Yankees with right arm soreness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Severino gave up four unearned runs and struck out a batter during his lone inning of work before his arm forced him to leave his start prematurely. The A's will presumably send him in for imaging to determine whether a structural issue is causing his soreness, and more details on his injury could come out in the near future.

Martinez (5-1) earned the win against the Angels on Friday, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out five across seven innings. He did not issue a walk.

Martinez allowed at least two baserunners in three of the first five innings of his start. However, he minimized the damage to two runs and stretched his outing through the seventh inning to secure his seventh quality start of the season, which is tied for fourth most in the American League. Martinez sits at a 1.62 ERA over 66.2 innings, which is second-best in the majors among qualified starters this season, behind only Cam Schlittler (1.50). Martinez's next start is slated for next week at home against the Tigers.

Manager Will Venable said after Friday's win over the Tigers that Murakami (hamstring) could be sidelined for a couple of weeks, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Murakami tweaked his hamstring while running to first base in the third inning, and although the Sox have yet to receive any imaging results, they seem to be working under the assumption that he'll have to spend time on the IL with a strain. Miguel Vargas could move over to first base while Murakami is sidelined, which could open up more playing time for Luisangel Acuna or Jacob Gonzalez, who is expected to come up from Triple-A Charlotte once Murakami officially lands on the IL.

Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Alonso extended the Orioles' lead to 4-0 in the fifth inning, when he took Austin Voth deep to right-center field for a 403-foot solo home run. Alonso is up to 11 home runs on the season, which is tied for 14th most in the American League and second on the Orioles behind Gunnar Henderson (13). Since May 1, Alonso has slashed .269/.322/.519 with one steal, seven home runs, 21 RBI and 15 runs scored over 115 plate appearances.

Holliday went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Holliday scored the Orioles' first run of the game in the second inning before extending his team's lead to 4-0 with a solo homer off Austin Voth in the fourth. It was Holliday's second home run of the season and third multi-hit game. He has gone 7-for-27 (.259) with three steals, seven RBI and six runs scored in his 10 games since being activated from the 10-day IL in mid-May.

Basallo went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly during the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday.

Basallo was responsible for two of the Orioles' five runs Friday, highlighted by his solo home run off Austin Voth in the fifth inning to give Baltimore a 5-0 lead. Basallo has gone deep in two of his last three outings and is up to nine home runs on the season, which is third on the Orioles behind Gunnar Henderson (13) and Pete Alonso (11). Basallo is slashing .273/.325/.506 with 24 RBI, 22 runs and 17 extra-base hits across 169 plate appearances this season.

Rogers did not factor into Friday's decision against the Blue Jays, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three across six innings.

Rogers was in complete command for most of Friday's start, giving up just three baserunners through the first six innings. He was brought back out for the seventh, but that decision backfired on the Orioles as Rogers proceeded to give up two-run home runs to both Kazuma Okamoto and Charles McAdoo without recording an out. It ruined what would have otherwise been Rogers' fourth quality start of the season and first since April 7 against the White Sox. He has given up at least four earned runs in six of his seven starts since that QS, which has Rogers sitting at a 6.84 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 48.2 innings. His next start is slated for next week against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Voth allowed five runs on five hits and four walks without striking out a batter across 3.1 innings during the Blue Jays' 6-5 win over the Orioles on Friday.

Adam Macko served as the Blue Jays' opener for Friday's game, with Voth coming in to secure the final out of the second inning. However, Voth struggled over his next three frames, yielding two runs in the third before allowing solo home runs to Jackson Holliday, Pete Alonso and Samuel Basallo across the fourth and fifth innings. Fortunately for Voth, he escaped with the no-decision after the Blue Jays scored six runs over the seventh and eighth frames. It was just the second major-league outing of the season for Voth, but he's given up six runs on eight hits, five walks and three wild pitches with just one strikeout across six innings.

Fisher earned the save during the Blue Jays' 6-5 win over the Orioles on Friday, when he tossed a scoreless ninth inning without giving up a hit or walk.

Louis Varland and Jeff Hoffman both pitched in the Blue Jays' last two games, so manager John Schneider turned to Fisher to protect a one-run lead in the ninth. The right-hander got the first two batters out before Gunnar Henderson reached base safely on an error by Ernie Clement, but Fisher secured the first save of his major-league career by getting Adley Rutschman to ground out. Fisher has not allowed a run over his last eight innings and sits at a 2.48 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 33:12 K:BB with two wins and six holds across 32.2 frames this season.
