Ryan (6-5) earned the win against the Astros on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

On the year, the 28-year-old owns an impressive 3.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 118:16 K:BB through 109.1 innings and lines up to face the Giants next week.

The 25-year-old owns a 4.48 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 100:36 K:BB over 92.1 innings this season and will try to rebound against the Rangers next week.

Verdugo hit a two-run home run in the third inning and then singled and scored in the fifth. He hit just .219 with one homer in June but has registered two multi-hit efforts in his past three games and continues to hit in the middle of the order. • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Dealing with quad issue

Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Rodriguez was removed in the second inning of Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays with discomfort in his lower right quadricep and will undergo an MRI, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

An explanation for Rodriguez's early removal wasn't immediately provided Saturday, but Servais shed more light on the matter after the game. The extent of Rodriguez's injury is still unknown, however, so the results of his MRI will be more telling. Rodriguez can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Sunday's series finale before the Mariners provide another update on his status.
