Rotowire
Rodriguez (concussion) is not expected to be activated from the 7-day injured list for this weekend's series against the Rays, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Rodriguez is eligible to come off the injured list Friday, but he's already not in the lineup for the series opener against the Rays, and it sounds like he's going to take the entire weekend set along with the All-Star break to rest up before the second half of the season. Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Officially placed on 7-day IL
Rotowire
The Mariners placed Rodriguez (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Friday.
The move to the 7-day IL was an expected one once Rodriguez entered the league's concussion protocol following Thursday's game against the Angels. He's eligible to be reinstated from the IL on July 10, but whether Rodriguez returns before the All-Star break will depend on how he progresses. In a corresponding move, the Mariners selected Miles Mastrobuoni's contract from Triple-A Tacoma and transferred Cooper Criswell (shoulder) to the 60-day IL.

Rotowire
The Mariners are expected to place Rodriguez on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Rodriguez entered the league's concussion protocol following Thursday's game against the Angels, after he was hit in the back of the helmet by a throw from Nolan Schanuel in the first inning. Rodriguez will need to move through multiple checkpoints before being cleared but will be eligible to be activated off the IL before the All-Star break. A corresponding move has yet to be announced, though Kremer notes that Miles Mastrobuoni has a locker ahead of Friday's series opener against the Blue Jays.

Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Swats homer in loss
Rotowire
Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox.
Rodriguez homered in the ninth inning to keep the Mariners from getting shut out. It's encouraging that the 25-year-old was able to play the full game in center field after exiting Wednesday's contest due to hamstring spasms, which also forced him to sit Thursday. It's unclear if he'll get any rest in the coming days, but he should be good to handle a starting role in the long run. Friday's long ball was his first since June 2, and Rodriguez is now batting .249 with a .745 OPS, 14 homers, 37 RBI, 41 runs scored, nine stolen bases and 15 doubles over 76 games this season.

The All-Star center fielder is heating up at the dish, hitting safely in five of his last six games. Additionally, Rodriguez has picked up multiple knocks in three of his past four outings. He'll need to pick up the pace if he wants to record his fifth straight 20-steal campaign -- Rodriguez has just five thefts so far -- but the slugger is batting a healthy .260 with nine homers, 11 doubles, 23 RBI and 29 runs scored across 215 at-bats.

Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Swipes two bags Saturday
Rotowire
Rodriguez went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.
Rodriguez reached base just once, but he made the most of his eighth-inning single by stealing second and third base before coming around to score. The talented outfielder hadn't swiped a bag in any of his previous 18 contests, so his fantasy managers will likely hope that his pair of thefts kick off a stretch of more frequent running. Rodriguez holds a .255/.320/.415 slash line with seven homers, 20 RBI, 23 runs and five stolen bases through 47 contests on the campaign.
