Matt Wallner RF | MIN
Twins' Matt Wallner: Joining active roster
The Twins will recall Wallner from Triple-A St. Paul, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports Saturday.
Wallner was relegated to St. Paul after opening the season 2-for-25 with a 51.5 percent strikeout game for the Twins, but he'll rejoin the 26-man roster after finding his swing at Triple-A. Wallner has generated a hit in 25 of his 29 games since June 1 and has belted 12 homers during that span. The 26-year-old will provide depth at the corner outfield positions.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Not facing southpaw
Massey is absent from the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.
Massey will give way to Freddy Fermin at DH on Saturday with lefty Austin Gomber on the mound for Colorado. Massey is 3-for-19 with a pair of solo home runs in his last six games.

Nick Loftin 3B | KC
Royals' Nick Loftin: On bench Saturday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Walter Pennington RP | BAL
Royals' Walter Pennington: Optioned back to Omaha
The Royals optioned Pennington to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
Just a day after being selected to the active roster, Pennington will now return to Triple-A, though he'll keep his spot on the 40-man roster. The 26-year-old lefty struck out a batter in two-thirds of an inning during his MLB debut Friday and could be a candidate to return to Kansas City if he remains effective in Triple-A (2.35 ERA, 0.97 WHIP). Kris Bubic (elbow) was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Kris Bubic SP | LAD
Royals' Kris Bubic: Back from injured list
The Royals reinstated Bubic (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Bubic has been on the injured list all season while working his way back from the Tommy John procedure he underwent last April. In nine rehab appearances with Triple-A Omaha, the 26-year-old lefty posted a 2.63 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 27.1 innings. He'll transition to the bullpen as he returns to Kansas City and will likely serve in a multi-inning relief role. Walter Pennington was optioned to Omaha in order to make room on the active roster, and Colin Selby was DFA'd to clear a 40-man spot.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Dealing with bruised knee
Alvarez was diagnosed with a right knee contusion after exiting Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Twins and isn't scheduled to undergo any imaging, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports. He went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts before exiting the contest.
Alvarez was hit in the knee by a pitch in the sixth inning of Saturday's game and though he stayed in the game to run the bases, he was later removed in the eighth inning. Considering he won't require imaging, the 27-year-old should be viewed as day-to-day. However, with a team off day coming Monday, the Astros could opt to play it safe and hold Alvarez out of Sunday's series finale against Minnesota.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Exits after HBP
Alvarez was removed from Saturday's game versus Minnesota after getting hit by a pitch, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Alvarez took a 94-mph fastball off his right knee during the sixth inning of Saturday's contest. He initially remained in the game to run the bases despite looking uncomfortable, but Grae Kessinger pinch hit for him during the eighth. Houston will presumably take Alvarez in for imaging, and the team should have more information on his injury in the near future.

Julio Rodriguez CF | SEA
Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Removed early Saturday
Rodriguez was removed from Saturday's game against the Blue Jays in the second inning, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Rodriguez never made a plate appearance Saturday, and it's not immediately apparent why he had to come out of the game, but the Mariners should offer some more clarity soon. In the meantime, Luke Raley will move out to center field while Ty France mans first base.

Daniel Schneemann CF | CLE
Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Sitting against southpaw
Schneemann isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Giants.
With lefty Kyle Harrison set to start on the mound for the Giants, the left-handed bat of Schneemann will take a seat on the bench Saturday. His absence will allow Steven Kwan, Tyler Freeman and Jhonkensy Noel to start across Cleveland's outfield.
