Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Productive since return
Jung went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's spring game against Kansas City.
Jung has wielded a potent bat since his return Monday after missing a little more than two weeks with an adductor strain. After a triple and run scored Monday, the third baseman added three more hits and belted his first Cactus League home run (417 feet). Texas manager Skip Schumaker believes there's still enough runway left for Jung to be ready for Opening Day, per Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News.

Kumar Rocker P | TEX
Rangers' Kumar Rocker: Finishes strong
Rocker allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out six over four innings in Wednesday's spring start against the Royals.
Texas manager Skip Schumaker was pleased with Rocker's final Cactus League start. "Rocker was pretty electric," Schumaker told Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News. "His slider at times was, I don't want to say unhittable, but as good as there is in the game." Indeed, the right-hander's slider played and generated nine whiffs on in the 12 times he threw the pitch. On the negative side, only 40 of his 70 pitches landed in the zone, and he allowed three stolen bases, but the manager classified it as a "really good outing." Rocker finished the spring on the high note, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 11 over eight innings. He and Jacob Latz remain in the hunt for the final spot in the rotation.

Sean Burke P | CHW
White Sox's Sean Burke: Locked into rotation
Burke has earned a spot in the White Sox's rotation to begin the regular season, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
The White Sox have been purposefully vague about their rotation, and Burke has been inconsistent this spring. However, he allowed only one earned run with four strikeouts and three walks across 4.2 innings Monday against the Rangers. Burke is expected to make his regular-season debut in Chicago's opening series against the Brewers.

Erick Fedde SP | CHW
White Sox's Erick Fedde: Earns rotation spot
Fedde will begin the 2026 season in the White Sox's rotation, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Fedde has only thrown 8.2 innings this spring, though he's limited opponents to three earned runs paired with a 7:2 K:BB. He'll likely appear in at least one more game this spring before lining up to make his regular-season debut at Miami during the team's second series.

Matt Strahm RP | KC
Royals' Matt Strahm: Exits with bruised leg
Strahm was removed from Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Rangers with a left leg contusion, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Strahm was lifted immediately after taking a comebacker off his leg in the fifth inning of Wednesday's contest. Manager Matt Quatraro said after the game that the left-hander's removal was precautionary, and the team isn't too concerned about his status going forward -- a good sign that he'll be ready to go for Opening Day.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Yankees' Paul DeJong: Won't opt out of deal
DeJong doesn't plan to opt out of his minor-league contract with the Yankees, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
DeJong will have the right to opt out of his deal Thursday, but he instead plans to stick with the Pinstripes through the end of spring training in an effort to make the Opening Day roster. If he doesn't make the cut, he is also willing to open the season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and work his way back into the majors or wait for another opt-out date. The 32-year-old owns a .757 OPS with two homers, three RBI and seven runs scored this spring, but he's batting just .194 and has struck out 11 times in 31 at-bats.

Mitch Spence SP | KC
Royals' Mitch Spence: Optioned to Omaha
The Royals optioned Spence to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.
The Athletics traded Spence to Kansas City in February, and after surrendering eight earned runs over seven innings during spring training, he will report to Triple-A to begin his tenure with his new organization. The right-hander owns a 4.77 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 236 innings in his big-league career and may be recalled later in the season to provide long-relief help.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Opening Day status uncertain
Massey may not be available for Opening Day due to a calf strain, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Massey is rehabbing from a low-grade calf strain that he suffered last week. He's progressed enough in his recovery to take at-bats in backfield games, but whether he's ready for Opening Day will depend on whether he can run at 100 percent. Participation in the final Cactus League games of spring training would be a good sign for Massey's chances of being available for the start of the regular season.

Stephen Kolek RP | KC
Royals' Stephen Kolek: Begins mound work
Kolek (oblique) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Wednesday marked Kolek's first time throwing off a mound since he suffered a left oblique strain in late February. With just nine days remaining until the Royals' regular-season opener, it's unlikely that the 28-year-old righty will have enough time before then to build up to a starter's workload. However, he may be able to work as a multi-inning reliever in the meantime.

Brandon Valenzuela C | TOR
Blue Jays' Brandon Valenzuela: Sent to Buffalo
The Blue Jays optioned Valenzuela to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Valenzuela performed well during spring training, posting an .848 OPS across 11 Grapefruit League contests, but he will fall short of an Opening Day roster spot. Should Alejandro Kirk or Tyler Heineman have to miss any length of time during the regular season, Valenzuela would likely be promoted to provide depth behind the plate.
