  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Dominates Orioles with nine K's

Woo (6-5) earned the win Thursday against the Orioles, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings. Woo turned in one of his best starts of the season, tossing 61 of his 89 pitches for strikes while generating 12 whiffs. The right-hander was overpowering Thursday, striking out five consecutive batters during one stretch and allowing just two baserunners through his first seven innings of work. He returned for the eighth but issued a leadoff walk and surrendered a single, prompting his exit before any damage could be done. The outing continued a boom-or-bust stretch for Woo, who has recorded three starts of six or more scoreless innings over his last six appearances but has also allowed a combined 16 runs in the other three. The 26-year-old now owns a 3.49 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 88:16 K:BB across 89 innings and should be lined up for a road start against Pittsburgh next time out.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Falters again

Woo (5-5) allowed seven runs on seven hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out four over five innings to take the loss versus the Orioles on Thursday. Woo continues to be wildly inconsistent -- he's allowed at least four runs in five of his last nine outings, but he's also posted three scoreless lines in that span. The right-hander was cruising early Thursday, but a six-run third inning spoiled the effort. That included a pair of home runs, making this just the third time he's allowed multiple homers in a game this season. Woo now has a 4.28 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 79:15 K:BB through 82 innings across 14 starts. He'll look to get back on track next week in a rematch versus the Orioles in Seattle.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Tamed by Tigers

Woo (5-4) took the loss Friday, coughing up five runs on nine hits over 6.1 innings as the Mariners fell 7-3 to the Tigers. He struck out seven without walking a batter. Only one of the hits off Woo went for extra bases, but it was a two-run homer by Kerry Carpenter in the third inning that put Detroit in the lead for good. It's the third time in seven starts since the beginning of May that the right-hander has been tagged for at least four runs, and over that stretch he sports a 3.64 ERA in 42 innings despite a 0.95 WHIP, 48:8 K:BB and just three home runs allowed. Woo will look to bounce back in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Baltimore.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Excellent in fifth win

Woo (5-3) allowed two hits and struck out nine without walking a batter over seven scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday over the Diamondbacks. Woo posted his third scoreless outing of May with this performance. Both hits he allowed were singles, and his nine strikeouts matched a season high. Woo trimmed his ERA to 3.44, and he's added a 0.96 WHIP and 68:14 K:BB across 70.2 innings over 12 starts. He's also allowed just six home runs this season, all of which came across back-to-back starts April 25 and May 1. Woo is projected to make his next turn through the rotation in Detroit.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Posts six scoreless frames Monday

Woo (4-2) earned the win Monday, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings against the White Sox. He struck out eight. Woo was stellar, keeping the White Sox offense off the board en route to his third scoreless start of the season. After a rocky two-start stretch between April 25 and May 1 in which he surrendered 13 earned runs across nine innings, the right-hander has allowed just two runs over 18 innings with a 26:6 K:BB across his past three outings. Woo will carry a 3.51 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 55:12 K:BB through 59 innings (10 starts) into his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Royals.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Dominant in rebound effort

Woo (2-2) earned the win Wednesday over Atlanta, allowing just one hit and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out nine. Woo was excellent Wednesday, holding a red-hot Atlanta offense to just one single while matching a season high with nine strikeouts. It's an especially encouraging performance for Woo, who had given up 13 runs over nine innings across his previous two outings. Overall, his ERA sits at 4.02 this year with a 1.00 WHIP and 38:8 K:BB across eight starts (47 innings). Woo's currently scheduled to face the Astros on the road his next time out.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Stuck with first loss

Woo (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two. Woo pitched well for the most part Wednesday, holding Texas off the board through four innings. However, he'd run into trouble in the fifth, allowing three consecutive one-out hits before giving up a pair of runs on a Connor Joe error. The Rangers would tack on a third run in the frame on a Corey Seager sacrifice fly. While he remains without a win through three starts, Woo's gotten off to another strong start in 2026, allowing just three earned runs on 10 hits and four walks while striking out 17 over 18 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Padres on the road in his next outing.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Allows one hit in no-decision

Woo didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Angels, allowing just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts across seven shutout innings. The lone hit Woo allowed was an infield single to Oswald Peraza in the third inning, and Woo eventually erased him by picking Peraza off first base. While Woo dazzled across seven scoreless frames, Reid Detmers nearly matched him, holding the Seattle offense to three hits and four walks across 6.2 shutout innings. The game required an extra inning after going scoreless through nine innings. Woo doesn't have any wins to show for his excellent start to the 2026 campaign; he's registered a 1.38 ERA and 15:2 K:BB across 13 innings. His next start is slated to come Wednesday against the Rangers.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Racks up nine Ks over six frames

Woo allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings in a no-decision against Cleveland on Saturday. Woo held the Guardians scoreless through five innings, but Cleveland got to him for a pair of runs in the sixth. That proved to be the right-hander's final frame, and while that sixth inning ended up costing him a chance for the win, he did notch a quality start. Woo tossed 59 of 83 pitches for strikes and racked up a robust 15 whiffs, buoying his case to be considered among fantasy's elite starting pitchers. He's lined up to make his next start against the Angels on the road.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Available in relief for Game 5

Woo will be available out of the bullpen Friday in Game 5 of the ALCS versus the Blue Jays, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports. Woo had been a candidate to start Game 5, but the Mariners will instead turn to Bryce Miller for their final home game of the series. The 25-year-old Woo has not appeared in a game since Sept. 19 due to right pectoral inflammation, but he's healthy now and will give Seattle some length in relief, if needed.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Misses out on ALDS roster

Woo (pectoral) isn't on the Mariners' roster for the ALDS, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Woo missed the final couple of weeks of the regular season due to right pectoral inflammation. He tossed a bullpen session Thursday that the Mariners considered successful, but evidently not successful enough to include him in the team's pitching plans for its ALDS matchup against the Tigers. The 25-year-old will be eligible to return in the ALCS if Seattle advances.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Feeling good after bullpen session

Woo's (pectoral) bullpen session went as planned Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. There weren't many details provided about Woo's throwing session, but it was deemed a success by the team. More details about his availability should come Friday, as the Mariners want to see how Woo is feeling following a day of recovery before announcing their pitching plans for the ALDS.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Plays catch Thursday

Woo (pectoral) played light catch in the outfield prior to Thursday's game against the Rockies, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. Woo was originally slated to start Thursday, but he was instead limited to light throwing. The team didn't release an official update on his status, and he is still considered day-to-day. Per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com, Woo's regular season is likely over, and he is targeting Game 2 of the ALDS for a return to the mound.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Considered day-to-day

Imaging revealed minor inflammation in Woo's right pectoral Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. It remains unknown whether Woo will be able to make his next start Thursday versus Colorado, but the M's will keep an eye on him over the next several days before making a decision. The team doesn't anticipate him spending time on the injured list, however, which makes it far more likely that he appears on the mound at some point before the end of the year.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Exits with trainer

Woo was removed from Friday's game against the Astros with an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports. Woo had made it through five innings of shutout ball Friday, but a Mariners trainer made the decision to pull the right-hander while he was warming up for the sixth. It isn't immediately clear what is bothering Woo, but the team should provide some details regarding his condition relatively soon.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Sets personal best in strikeouts

Woo (14-7) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out 13 over six innings to earn the win over the Angels on Saturday. Woo's 13 strikeouts were the most he's had in any game in his big-league career, and the first time he's even reached double digits. He gave up both runs in the second inning, including one on a solo home run by Jo Adell. Woo has won six of eight starts since the beginning of August, allowing just 15 runs over 48.2 innings with a 64:10 K:BB in that in that span. He is now at a 3.02 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 191:35 K:BB through 181.2 innings over 29 starts this season. He is lined up to make his next start in a pivotal road series versus the Astros.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Earns 13th win

Woo (13-7) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks over six innings in a 4-2 victory over St. Louis. He struck out nine. Woo delivered six strong innings Monday, halting a brief two-start stretch of shorter outings after previously going six-plus in each of his first 25 starts. The right-hander has been one of MLB's most reliable arms this season, compiling a 3.02 ERA and 0.95 WHIP across 175.2 innings in 28 starts. While not overpowering with strikeouts (9.1 K/9), his nine punchouts Monday tied a season high, and his elite command (1.7 BB/9) continues to fuel his consistency.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Bounces back Tuesday

Woo (9-6) allowed one run on two hits and struck out nine without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win Tuesday over the White Sox. While one of the two hits he allowed left the yard -- a solo shot from Lenyn Sosa in the first inning -- Woo was otherwise excellent to bounce back from giving up five runs in his last start. His nine strikeouts Tuesday also matched his season high, while it was the first time since May 24 versus the Astros that he was able to avoid issuing a walk. Woo is now at a 3.02 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 136:25 K:BB through 140 innings over 22 starts this season. He is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rays.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Yields four homers in loss

Woo (8-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Athletics, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 6.1 innings. Though Woo completed at least six innings for the 21st consecutive time to begin the campaign, this was far from a strong outing. He tied a season-worst mark by allowing five runs and doubled his previous season-worst tally by surrendering four homers. All of the long balls were solo shots, so Woo was at least able to keep his team in the game. Woo hasn't earned a win in any of his past four starts, posting a mediocre 4.56 ERA despite a strong 1.01 WHIP during that span. He'll try to get back in the win column in his next start, which lines up to be a home matchup against the White Sox.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Flirts with no-hitter Thursday

Woo took a no-decision Thursday against the Yankees, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks in 7.1 innings. He struck out five. It was a brilliant performance in the Bronx from Woo, who twirled seven hitless innings to begin his evening and retired 20 consecutive batters at one point before running into some trouble in the eighth. The right-hander has proven to be as reliable as any starter in the league in the first half, spinning at least six frames in 18 straight outings. Woo boasts a 2.75 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 109:21 K:BB across 114.2 innings, and he's provided plenty of stability to a Seattle rotation hit hard by injuries.
