The White Sox reinstated Pereira (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Monday.
Pereira will settle back in as a fourth or fifth outfielder for the White Sox, with Chicago optioning Junior Perez to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding roster move. Though Pereira has spent time on the shelf this season due to a left ankle sprain, a right pectoral strain and a concussion, he's been an adequate performer when he's been available, slashing .232/.299/.420 with three home runs and one stolen base over 77 plate appearances. Now healthy again, the right-handed-hitting Pereira will likely see most of his opportunities against left-handed pitching.

Pereira is in the midst of his second stint of the season on the injured list, this time as the result of a concussion after he previously missed about six weeks due to a right pectoral strain. After being deactivated June 18, Pereira made good progress in his recovery over the All-Star break and has advanced far enough in concussion protocol to test himself in a game setting. Once he's reinstated from the 7-day IL, Pereira will likely fill a short-side platoon role in the Chicago outfield.

Pereira hasn't played since April 28 due to a strained right pectoral, but he recently began throwing again and is now cleared for game action. The 25-year-old slashed .250/.310/.453 with three homers, seven RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base and a 4:21 BB:K across his first 71 pate appearances this season.
It's been almost exactly one month since Pereira landed on the injured list, and he has made some progress. However, it was also noted that Pereira still needs to build up additional arm strength prior to his return, so an exact timeline for his return remains unclear.
