  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Still experiencing symptoms

Pereira (concussion) is making progress in his recovery but is still experiencing concussion symptoms, MLB.com reports. Pereira has been sidelined for much of the last two months with a combination of a pectoral strain and a concussion. He is expected to return at some point in July, but no detailed timeline for his activation has been established.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Out with concussion

The White Sox placed Pereira on the 7-day concussion injured list Thursday. Pereira made a terrific leaping grab in Wednesday's game versus the Yankees to rob Ben Rice of extra bases, but he collided with the wall on the play and is now out with a concussion. He was playing in just his third game since returning from a six-plus week absence with a pectoral strain. As is the case with any concussion, Pereira faces an uncertain return timetable.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Activated from injured list

The White Sox activated Pereira (pectoral) from the 10-day injured list Thursday. Pereira has been shelved since late April with a right pectoral strain but has been cleared to return after going 5-for-14 with a pair of home runs in four rehab games with Triple-A Charlotte. The right-handed-swinging Pereira should play a decent amount in the Chicago outfield, especially versus left-handed pitching.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Kicking off rehab assignment

Pereira (pectoral) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Pereira hasn't played since April 28 due to a strained right pectoral, but he recently began throwing again and is now cleared for game action. The 25-year-old slashed .250/.310/.453 with three homers, seven RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base and a 4:21 BB:K across his first 71 pate appearances this season.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Resumes throwing

Pereira (pectoral) resumed throwing Monday, MLB.com reports. It's been almost exactly one month since Pereira landed on the injured list, and he has made some progress. However, it was also noted that Pereira still needs to build up additional arm strength prior to his return, so an exact timeline for his return remains unclear.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Sitting due to shoulder injury

Pereira (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels. The White Sox are listing Pereira as day-to-day after he was pulled from Tuesday's 5-2 win due to a sore right shoulder, which he appeared to tweak on a swing in the fourth inning. Austin Hays replaced Pereira in right field Tuesday and will stick in the starting nine at designated hitter in Wednesday's series finale. With an off day on tap Thursday, the White Sox are hopeful that Pereira will be ready to move past the shoulder injury and return to the lineup during this weekend's series in San Diego.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Pulled with shoulder soreness

Pereira was removed from Tuesday's game against the Angels with right shoulder soreness. The White Sox are viewing Pereira as day-to-day, which suggests that he isn't dealing with anything serious and may not need to miss many starts, if any. If the team decides to sit him down for a game or two, Austin Hays would likely be the next man up to start in right field.

  • White Sox's Luisangel Acuna: Not in Saturday's lineup

Acuna is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Athletics on Saturday. Acuna was productive in Friday's series opener, going 2-for-4 with a a steal, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in a 9-2 win. He'll be on the bench for the start of Saturday's game while the White Sox roll with Sam Antonacci, Tristan Peters and Everson Pereira in the outfield from left to right.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Lands on injured list

The White Sox placed Pereira on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left ankle sprain. Pereira was pulled from Wednesday's game against Miami due to what was originally labeled as left ankle soreness. The injury is now being described as a sprain, and it will cost the outfielder at least 10 days of action. In a corresponding roster move, Chicago called up infielder Tanner Murray from Triple-A Charlotte.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Day off Tuesday

Pereira is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Miami. Pereira started each of the first four games of the season in right field, but he will begin Tuesday's contest on the bench. Tristan Peters will cover right field and hit seventh for the White Sox on Tuesday.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Starting Opening Day

Pereira (illness) will start in right field and bat seventh Thursday against the Brewers, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports. Pereira sat out the final game of the White Sox's Cactus League schedule with an illness, but he's now fully healthy and will officially claim a spot in Chicago's Opening Day outfield alongside Austin Hays and Luisangel Acuna.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Scratched due to illness

Pereira was scratched from Monday's Cactus League lineup versus the Athletics due to illness, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Derek Hill subbed in for Pereira in right field for the White Sox. Pereira should be healthy for Opening Day, and he is projected to begin the season as a reserve outfielder for Chicago.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Back in action Monday

Pereira (oblique) will start in right field and bat second in Monday's Cactus League game against the Rockies. Pereira will be making his spring debut after he was initially scheduled to play Feb. 20 before being scratched due to right oblique soreness. The outfielder had been able to take part in running and core-strengthening workouts throughout the duration of his absence, but after recently resuming hitting and experiencing no discomfort, he's been given the green light to play in games. Pereira still has a chance to stake his claim to a spot on the White Sox's Opening Day roster, and the fact that he has no minor-league options remaining is a factor that may work in his favor.

  • White Sox's Everson Pereira: Joins ChiSox

Tampa Bay traded Pereira (back) and Tanner Murray to the White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Steven Wilson and Yoendrys Gomez, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Rays acquired Pereira in a trade with the Yankees in late July. He ended up playing 23 games with Tampa Bay, struggling to a .138/.219/.246 slash line with two homers, eight RBI, two stolen bases and a 38.4 percent strikeout rate over 73 plate appearances before ending the season on the IL due to back inflammation. Pereira will now get a fresh start in Chicago, though to find big-league success and regular playing time, he'll likely need to make more consistent contact.

  • Rays' Everson Pereira: Moved to IL

The Rays placed Pereira on the 10-day injured list Friday due to low back inflammation. Manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Pereira wouldn't return in 2025, and Friday's move makes that official. The 24-year-old appeared in 23 games with the Rays this season, slashing .138/.219/.246 with a pair of home runs, two stolen bases and a 38.4 percent K rate. Jonathan Aranda (wrist) returned from the IL in a corresponding move.

  • Rays' Everson Pereira: Back injury ends season

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Pereira (back) is unlikely to return this season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Pereira was forced to exit Thursday's game in Baltimore in the fourth inning with low-back tightness. While it does not seem to be a long-term injury, it will nonetheless prematurely end the outfielder's season. Pereira slashed .138/.219/.246 with two home runs in 23 games for the Rays in 2025.

  • Rays' Everson Pereira: Exits with low-back tightness

Pereira was removed from Thursday's game against the Orioles in the fourth inning with low-back tightness, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. Pereira grounded out in the top of the fourth inning in his second plate appearance before being lifted for defense in the bottom of the frame. It's likely a day-to-day injury, but the Rays could provide more clarity soon regarding Pereira's availability for the weekend.

  • Rays' Everson Pereira: Sitting after three straight starts

Pereira is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. After going 1-for-9 with two walks, a stolen base and a run scored while starting each of the last three games in center field, Pereira will be the odd man out of the Tampa Bay outfield while Josh Lowe (oblique) makes his return to action. While Pereira likely won't be in line for regular playing time against righties with the outfield unit now closer to full strength, he could spell Lowe, Jake Mangum or Chandler Simpson in the outfield when the Rays oppose lefties.

  • Yankees' Everson Pereira: Healthy going into spring training

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday in an interview on WFAN Sports Radio that Pereira (elbow) is healthy and will compete for a roster spot in spring training. Pereira underwent an internal brace surgery on his right elbow in June, but it sounds like he's fully recovered and won't have any restrictions in spring training. While the Yankees could carry Pereira on the Opening Day roster as a reserve outfielder, the club might prefer that he plays every day at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Yankees' Everson Pereira: Needs internal brace surgery

Pereira is set to undergo a season-ending internal brace surgery on his right elbow in the coming days, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports. Pereira had already been placed on Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's full-season minor-league injured list, so it comes as little surprise that he'll be in line for major surgery. The rehab from an internal brace procedure is shorter than a full Tommy John surgery, especially for position players, but Pereira still seems likely to get a late start to next season. The 23-year-old slashed .265/.346/.512 with 10 home runs and five stolen bases over 40 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2024.
