Victor Robles RF | SEA
Mariners' Victor Robles: Back in action Tuesday
Robles (finger) will start in right field and bat leadoff Tuesday against the Rays.
Robles had to sit out Seattle's last two games after taking a pitch off his finger in Saturday's contest, but the lingering pain seems to have subsided Tuesday. The 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .191/.247/.294 with six RBI across 73 plate appearances since the beginning of August.

Niko Kavadas 1B | LAA
Angels' Niko Kavadas: Sitting versus southpaw
Kavadas is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Detroit, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Kavadas started the previous five games but will hit the bench Sunday after going 1-for-17 with eight strikeouts during that span. Brandon Drury will serve as the designated hitter while Jacob Lopez starts at second base against Tigers lefty Brant Hurter.

Kyle Tucker RF | LAD
Astros' Kyle Tucker: Running at full speed
Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that Tucker (shin) has begun sprinting and is close to running the bases, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Running the bases is viewed as Tucker's final checkpoint before being sent out on a rehab assignment, and he could take that step soon after being cleared to sprint. It's unclear how many rehab games Tucker might need before being activated from the 60-day injured list, but he and the Astros have been tentatively aiming for an early-September return.

Josh H. Smith LF | TOR
Rangers' Josh Smith: Idle versus lefty
Smith isn't in the Rangers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox.
With southpaw Garrett Crochet slated to take the mound for Chicago, the lefty-hitting Smith will begin Tuesday's contest on the bench. His absence will allow Robbie Grossman to serve as the Rangers' designated hitter and bat third.

Leody Taveras CF | BAL
Rangers' Leody Taveras: Resting Tuesday
Taveras isn't in the Rangers' lineup for Tuesday's game versus the White Sox.
Taveras will sit down for the second game in a row Tuesday after going 6-for-32 (.188) with three RBI across his last 10 games. While he rests, Ezequiel Duran, Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia will start across Texas' outfield.

Casey Mize SP | SD
Tigers' Casey Mize: Throws successful bullpen
Mize (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Tuesday that was deemed successful by manager A.J. Hinch, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Mize's official return has not yet been announced by the Tigers, but it appears that he should be lined up to start Friday versus the Red Sox. The right-hander had a rehab outing Saturday, striking out seven in 4.2 innings while surrendering three earned runs. If he is able to make his return Friday, it will mark Mize's first big-league start since June 30.

Caleb Boushley RP | TB
Twins' Caleb Boushley: Contract selected
The Twins selected Boushley's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
After pushing Trevor Richards off the 40-man roster, the Twins will now call upon Boushley to fill the open spot in their bullpen. The 30-year-old has allowed two earned runs over two innings in the big leagues this season, and he owns a 4.97 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 116 innings (22 starts) in the minors. He'll presumably serve as a long reliever while with the Twins.

Joe Ryan SP | MIN
Twins' Joe Ryan: Won't return in regular season
The Twins transferred Ryan (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
Ryan won't be eligible for activation until Oct. 9, ending his regular season. The right-hander is dealing with a Grade 2 teres major strain and could potentially be available if the Twins make the postseason, but a previous timeline of "weeks to months" doesn't provide much clarity. The transaction, along with Trevor Richards' DFA, opens up spots for Michael Tonkin and Caleb Boushley on the 40-man and 26-man rosters, respectively.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Works out at Fenway Park
Bichette (calf) traveled with the Blue Jays on their road trip and was spotted fielding grounders at Fenway Park prior to Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Bichette will continue to work out with the team on its trip before eventually heading out on a rehab assignment. The shortstop's return to game action in the minors doesn't look to be imminent, however, so he realistically won't be ready to return from the 10-day injured list until at least mid-September. He's been shelved since late July with a moderate right calf strain.

Luis Gil RP | NYY
Yankees' Luis Gil: Faces hitters
Gil (back) threw live batting practice with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
After Gil threw a bullpen session Sunday, manager Aaron Boone indicated that Gil would either throw live BP or begin a rehab assignment next. While Gil is with the Yankees' Double-A affiliate, he hasn't yet began to pitch in games. There's optimism that the 26-year-old could be ready to be activated once he becomes eligible Sept. 6, so a rehab start could be the next step for Gil.
