  • Colt Keith 3B | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Rejoining lineup as DH

Keith (shoulder) is batting fifth as the designated hitter Friday against the Orioles.

The 23-year-old sat out Wednesday against the Royals after he suffered a shoulder injury during Tuesday's contest, but he's back in the lineup following Thursday's team off day. Keith is hitting .315 through 14 games in September, though he hasn't supplied a ton of pop with just two extra-base hits.

  • Astros' Jon Singleton: Out against southpaw

Singleton is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

It's southpaw Tyler Anderson on the bump for the Angels, so the left-handed-hitting Singleton will grab a seat to begin the festivities. Yainer Diaz will draw the start at first base for the Astros and Victor Caratini will catch.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Absent from Friday's lineup

Drury is not in the lineup for Friday's contest in Houston, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Drury started the last two games after returning from a five-game absence due to a hamstring injury, but he'll be given some rest Friday. Jack Lopez is occupying second base for the Angels.

  • Nathan Lukes RF | TOR

Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Out of Friday's lineup

Luke is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rays.

Lukes started six of the previous seven games and will take seat Friday after posting a .231/.276/.385 slash line during that span. Jonatan Clase is starting in center field against Tampa Bay lefty Tyler Alexander.

  • Logan O'Hoppe DH | TEX

Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Day off Friday

O'Hoppe is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Houston, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

O'Hoppe wore the golden sombrero in Thursday's loss to the Astros, striking out in all four of his plate appearances, so he'll get a breather in this one. Matt Thaiss is doing the catching for the Angels and will bat fifth.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Taking seat Friday

Rocchio is not in the lineup for Friday's game in St. Louis.

Rocchio had started each of the last eight contests, but he'll get a day off for the series opener. Daniel Schneemann will hold down shortstop for the Guardians.

  • Dane Dunning SP | SEA

Rangers' Dane Dunning: Back in big leagues

The Rangers recalled Dunning from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

The right-hander was sent to Round Rock in late August but will rejoin Texas for the final stretch of the regular season. Dunning has started 14 of his 24 appearances in the majors this season but is likely to fill a relief role this time around. He has a 5.38 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 85:39 K:BB across 90.1 innings.

  • Rangers' Gerson Garabito: Optioned to Triple-A

The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Garabito has allowed eight runs over seven innings out of the Rangers' bullpen this month. His roster spot is being filled by Dane Dunning.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Starting rehab assignment

Mountcastle (wrist) reported to Triple-A Norfolk to begin a rehab assignment Friday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

The 27-year-old will get in a few games at Triple-A this weekend before potentially rejoining the Orioles early next week. Mountcastle has been sidelined nearly a month due to a sprained left wrist but should give Baltimore a boost for the final days of the regular season.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Not in Friday's lineup

Jeffers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

Jeffers is mired in a 4-for-32 slump and will take a seat for Friday's series opener in Boston. Christian Vazquez will step in behind the plate to catch for right-hander David Festa.
