The Guardians optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez cracked the Guardians' Opening Day roster but has played sparingly, making just one start. He's being replaced on the roster by Angel Martinez, who was called up from Columbus.

Rocchio is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the White Sox.

Rocchio will get a routine day off after starting the previous four contests. Gabriel Arias will start at shortstop and Daniel Schneemann will handle second base for the Guardians.

Naylor is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the White Sox.

Naylor started the first game of the series but will yield to Austin Hedges for the second game. The 25-year-old Naylor is just 4-for-26 at the plate so far this season.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Diaz has been one of the bigger disappointments among fantasy catchers so far this season; he's gone 2-for-33 with no home runs, one RBI and one run scored through the Astros' first 11 games. Though Diaz will be given a breather for the day game after a night game, the Astros will likely continue to allow the 26-year-old to play through his struggles, given the strong production he's provided over the past two seasons.

Caratini will start at catcher and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Caratini will receive his fourth start through the Astros' first 12 games of the season while Yainer Diaz gets the afternoon off. Diaz has mustered a lowly .200 OPS through 36 plate appearances, but after batting .299 with 16 home runs in 148 games in 2024, he likely has a long leash as the Astros' No. 1 backstop.

Thomas (wrist) is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the White Sox.

Thomas exited Tuesday's 1-0 win after being hit on the right wrist by a pitch. He managed to avoid any fractures, but Thomas is likely sore and will be given at least one day of rest, though manager Stephen Vogt said that the outfielder may be available off the bench, per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com. Nolan Jones will slide over from right field to cover Thomas' usual post in center field Wednesday.

Benintendi (adductor) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday game in Cleveland.

Benintendi has not played since exiting Sunday's contest against the Tigers due to left adductor tightness. He was set to undergo further testing Tuesday, and while those results have not been revealed, Benintendi will require at least one more day of rest. Michael Taylor is in left field and batting seventh for the White Sox on Wednesday.

Westburg is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The Orioles are presumably just giving Westburg some rest for the day game after a night game. Westburg previously sat out a March 30 loss to the Blue Jays due to an unspecified injury, but he proceeded to start in each of the last eight games, going 5-for-30 with three walks, three runs and an RBI. His absence from the lineup Wednesday will open up a spot in the infield for Ramon Urias, who will start at third base and bat eighth.

The Mariners recalled Rivas from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Rivas was with the big club briefly earlier this month but didn't see any action. He might be used some at second base while Ryan Bliss (biceps) is on the shelf.

The Mariners selected Lawrence's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Lawrence had made two starts with Tacoma this season, allowing five runs with an 8:3 K:BB over 10.1 innings. The veteran righty will give Seattle some length in the bullpen for now, but he could get a look as the club's No. 5 starter if Luis F. Castillo is unable to hold down a back-end rotation spot while George Kirby (shoulder) remains on the injured list.
