Jesse Hahn RP | TOR
Mariners' Jesse Hahn: Loses roster spot
The Mariners designated Hahn for assignment Wednesday.
Hahn gave up only one unearned run over four innings during his brief time with the big club, but he nonetheless has been jettisoned from the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster. Seattle selected the contract of Casey Lawrence from Triple-A Tacoma to replace Hahn.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Athletics' Gio Urshela: Exiting starting nine Wednesday
Urshela is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Urshela will get a breather for the day game after a night game, allowing Luis Urias to pick up a start at third base. Though he's been serving as the Athletics' primary option at the hot corner, Urshela's grasp on an everyday role could be slipping while he's struggled to a .182/.206/.273 slash line through his first 35 plate appearances of the season.

Ryan Bliss 2B | SEA
Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Shelved by biceps tear
The Mariners placed Bliss on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left biceps tear.
Bliss appeared to suffer the injury on a swing during Tuesday's game against the Astros. He managed to stay in that contest, but subsequent testing revealed that he suffered a tear that is likely to sideline him for a significant period of time. Miles Mastrobuoni will start at second base Wednesday, but Dylan Moore is likely to see the bulk of the starts at the keystone once Jorge Polanco (side) is able to play third base again.

Tyler Soderstrom LF | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Cleared to start Wednesday
Soderstrom (calf) will start at first base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Soderstrom was forced out late in Tuesday's 10-4 win due to a right calf contusion, but his early exit was likely precautionary more than anything, given that the Athletics held a six-run lead at the time of his departure. Even with a quick turnaround for Wednesday's day game, Soderstrom is feeling well enough to handle his usual duties as the Athletics' starting first baseman. The 23-year-old has been on fire at the dish to begin the season, batting .378 with a .440 on-base percentage and six home runs through 12 games.

Dustin Harris LF | SD
Rangers' Dustin Harris: Receives call to majors
The Rangers recalled Harris from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Harris will give Texas some extra coverage in the outfield while Wyatt Langford (oblique) is on the injured list, though the 25-year-old won't necessarily be a direct replacement for Langford in the everyday lineup. Kevin Pillar will draw the start in left field in Wednesday's game against the Cubs, and he, Harris, Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran could all be in the mix for playing time while Langford is out. Harris received a brief cup of coffee with the Rangers last September but otherwise spent the entire 2024 campaign at Round Rock, with whom he slashed .272/.355/.391 with 10 home runs and 35 stolen bases across 562 plate appearances.

Jonathan Ornelas 2B | MIL
Rangers' Jonathan Ornelas: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Ornelas to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Ornelas was recalled in late March but played sparingly, making just one start. Ezequiel Duran and Dustin Harris have joined the big club as Ornelas goes down and Wyatt Langford (oblique) lands on the injured list.

Wyatt Langford LF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Placed on IL with strained oblique
The Rangers placed Langford on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a right oblique strain.
Langford's oblique tightened up on him during Tuesday's loss to the Cubs, and an MRI showed enough damage that a trip to the IL was warranted. According to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, manager Bruce Bochy said Langford felt "pretty good" when he reported to the clubhouse Wednesday, but it's not yet clear how long the young outfielder might be sidelined. Kevin Pillar will start in left field for the Rangers on Wednesday and could see an expanded role while Langford is out. Josh Smith, Dustin Harris and Ezequiel Duran will also be in the mix for starts in left field.
