The Mariners reinstated Taylor (lat) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Taylor has been cleared to make his 2025 debut with Seattle after he suffered a right lat strain early in spring training that resulted in him being shelved to begin the campaign. He proved his health over his four-appearance rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma over the past couple of weeks, covering 3.1 innings while striking out four batters and allowing three earned runs on seven hits and no walks. Taylor supplied a 3.72 ERA and 1.14 WHIP and gathered six holds over 21 appearances with Seattle in 2024, but he may be limited to middle-relief work initially as he returns from the lat injury.

Hill tossed 1.2 perfect innings against San Francisco on Sunday, striking out three batters.

Though Hill didn't enter in a save or hold situation, his outing came at a critical juncture of the game, as the Giants had put two runners on base while holding a two-run lead with one out in the eighth inning before the lefty was summoned. Hill handled the situation with aplomb, retiring all five batters he faced on 19 pitches (15 of which were strikes). Hill has been solid in relief for New York this season, posting a 3.68 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB over 7.1 innings while picking up two holds.

The Mariners designated Lawrence for assignment Monday.

Lawrence will be moved off the 40-man roster and will surrender his spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen to right-hander Troy Taylor (lat), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. After receiving a call-up from Triple-A Tacoma last Wednesday, Lawrence made one relief appearance for Seattle and gave up two earned runs on four hits and one walk over three innings.

Hoffman (2-0) picked up the win in Sunday's extra-inning victory over the Orioles, allowing one hit over two scoreless innings and striking out four.

The Toronto closer entered a 6-6 tie in the ninth inning, and stuck around for the 10th after the Blue Jays pushed across a run in the top of the final frame. Hoffman tossed 24 pitches (18 strikes) in the appearance, which could make him unavailable Monday should the team have a late lead to protect against Atlanta. Through his first 9.1 innings with the Jays, Hoffman has a 0.96 ERA, 0.64 WHIP and dominant 13:1 K:BB while converting all three of his save chances.

Leon (knee) is expected to be ready to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land in late April, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

Leon was limited to just one game in spring training due to a Grade 1 MCL strain suffered in late February. He's coming along in his rehab and is nearly game-ready. Barring an unexpected need in the Houston outfield, Leon is likely to be optioned back to Sugar Land once he completes his rehab assignment and is activated from the 10-day injured list.

Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Giants.

One of the multiple Yankees players who's been using a torpedo bat this season, Chisholm made some early waves by slugging four home runs in the team's first two series of the campaign, but his power surge has since tapered off a bit. He had gone just 2-for-31 with a pair of doubles over his previous eight games before ending his dry spell in the home-run column when he took Tyler Rogers deep in the eighth inning of Sunday's contest. If health prevails, Chisholm -- who has gone 4-for-4 in stolen-base attempts -- still looks to be a good bet for a second straight 20-20 season and perhaps even his first 30-30 season, but he's been sacrificing some of his contact skills as he sells out for more power. As a consequence, he's struck out at a career-high 36.9 percent rate this season, which has limited him to a .169 batting average and a Statcast-measured .210 xBA.

The Rays plan to option Boyle to Triple-A Durham prior to Monday game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Boyle dazzled in a spot start Sunday versus Atlanta, permitting two unearned runs on no hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over five innings. However, the Rays will stick with their initial plan and send Boyle back down in order to bring up a fresh relief arm. Boyle should be the first pitcher the Rays call upon when they need rotation help.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Stroman received a cortisone shot over the weekend to address inflammation in his left knee, Larry Fleisher of the Associated Press reports. "The MRI was good, but he had some swelling in there somewhere," Boone said of Stroman. "So try to eliminate that, hopefully get him ramped up pretty quick and, hopefully, something that really helps him move it forward."

New York placed Stroman on the 15-day injured list Saturday after he failed to escape the first inning and was limited to 46 pitches a day earlier in a rain-affected start against the Giants. Boone noted that he was unsure if the poor weather exacerbated the discomfort in Stroman's left knee, which he previously had surgically repaired in 2015. Though the MRI confirmed that Stroman isn't dealing with any structural damage to his knee, the right-hander could still require more than the minimum 15 days to fully heal up from the injury. Stroman had struggled to an 11.57 ERA, 2.04 WHIP and 7:7 K:BB in 9.1 innings over his three starts, so the Yankees likely won't look to rush him back from the IL until they're confident that he's 100 percent healthy.

Matthews is no longer expected to be recalled from Triple-A St. Paul this week with the Twins planning to maintain a five-man rotation, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune previously reported last Thursday that the Twins were contemplating calling up Matthews and having him serve as a temporary sixth member of the rotation, but Minnesota will stick with a five-man setup with off days on tap this Thursday and the following Monday. Matthews should still be next in line to join the big-league rotation if an opening emerges, though David Festa was called up ahead of him last week when Pablo Lopez (hamstring) landed on the injured list. Matthews has gotten off to a nice start to the season at St. Paul, striking out 13 over 10 innings while allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks.

Mize (2-1) allowed four runs on seven hits across 5.2 innings to take the loss Sunday against the Twins. He struck out three.

Over his first two starts of the season, Mize had allowed just one run across 11.2 innings with 12 strikeouts. The righty was unable to match that production as he allowed his first two home runs of the year and didn't miss as many bats. Mize still has a strong 2.60 ERA and 1.04 WHIP overall, and he'll look to get back on track in his next scheduled appearance, which is penciled in for Friday against the Royals.
