Sogard was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Saturday.

Romy Gonzalez (back) landed on the injured list Saturday, creating an opening at first base for the Red Sox. Sogard appears set to get some chances against lefties, as he's in the lineup and hitting seventh versus Royals southpaw Cole Ragans on Saturday. Sogard earned 86 plate appearances with the Red Sox in 2024 and hit .273/.326/.325 with eight RBI and 13 runs scored.

Gonzalez (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday.

Gonzalez began dealing with the back issue Wednesday and has sat two games since. The move is retroactive to May 8, though Gonzalez's timeline to return is unclear. Gonzalez's injury also makes Boston's first base situation even more dire, with Abraham Toro projected to see the majority of playing time at the position.

Meidroth (shoulder) is leading off and playing shortstop Saturday against the Marlins, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Meidroth was a late scratch for Friday's matchup due to right shoulder soreness. However, he'll immediately return to take over his usual role as the White Sox's leadoff hitter.

Seager is hitting third and playing shortstop Saturday against the Tigers.

Seager sat two consecutive days -- the latter against lefty Tarik Skubal -- to rest a right hamstring injury. He'll return to the lineup Saturday, and it's a positive sign that he'll man shortstop rather than serve as the designated hitter.

The White Sox selected Elko's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Elko was a 10th-round pick for the White Sox in 2022 and has progressed consistently through the team's system. He's maintained a .339/.423/.661 line across 130 plate appearances with Charlotte this season, earning him his first shot in the majors. Elko will man first base and hit eighth in his debut Saturday against Miami, per Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com.

The White Sox claimed Gomez off waivers from the Dodgers on Saturday.

The Dodgers designated Gomez for assignment Tuesday, one day after he gave up three earned runs while recording just one out against Miami. He has a bloated 6.28 ERA and 1.81 WHIP across 14.1 frames this season, but the White Sox recognized enough potential in the 25-year-old righty to put in a waiver claim for him. He'll report to the big club and will likely fill a long-relief role.

Baez is not in Saturday's lineup against the Rangers.

Baez will sit for the second time in the last three games, though that isn't performance related. He's hit .351 with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored across his last 10 games, but Jace Jung will nevertheless enter the lineup and man third base.

Dingler is not in Detroit's lineup Saturday against the Rangers.

Dingler has started games on three straight days and will give way to Tomas Nido on Saturday. Dingler has maintained his strong performance to begin the season, hitting .316 with five RBI and five runs scored across his last 10 games.

Jeffers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Jeffers will get a chance to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts during Friday's series opener. Christian Vazquez will catch for Joe Ryan and bat ninth.

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Friday against the Marlins.

Vaughn popped his fourth home run of the season in the second inning of Friday's win, his first long ball since April 20. He's still managed some moderate production in that span, hitting .243 with seven RBI and four runs scored across 18 games.
