Triple-A St. Paul placed Fitzgerald on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to a right ankle sprain.

Fitzgerald was hitting just .159 with a .525 OPS in 12 games since he returned to Triple-A from his brief time in the majors. He's hitting .284/.378/.467 with five home runs overall in 47 games at Triple-A.

Brito (thumb) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Guardians later this week, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Brito landed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Columbus after having surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb in late April. He will eventually rejoin Columbus' roster after knocking some rust off in the ACL.

Stephan (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Guardians on Tuesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Stephan missed the entirety of last season following a UCL reconstruction, but he's finally been cleared for game action following a long rehab process. His rehab assignment will be a lengthy one given how much time Stephan has missed, but he should be ready to rejoin the Guardians' bullpen before the All-Star break.

Walter underwent surgery Monday to repair his right lat, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The Guardians didn't divulge a timetable for Walters, but the operation will undoubtedly end the reliever's season. Walter had been shelved since late May with the injury and last week was transferred to the 60-day injured list.

Brennan underwent a full repair of the UCL in his left elbow Monday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Brennan had sought multiple opinions on the injury and in the end was unable to avoid surgery. The recovery from a UCL is much shorter for position players, but the operation is still expected to keep Brennan out for the remainder of the 2025 season.

The Mariners recalled Canzone from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Canzone has spent virtually all of this season with Tacoma, where he's slashed .296/.360/.564 with 13 home runs in 45 contests. He should get a shot to play right field against right-handed pitching, at least until Luke Raley (oblique) returns.

The Mariners designated Taveras for assignment Monday.

Taveras was scooped up by the Mariners via waivers in early May after the Rangers had removed him from their 40-man roster. However, he's now been designated for assignment again after putting up a lowly .470 OPS in 28 contests with Seattle. Another team may be willing to dedicate a waiver claim to Taveras, though his $4.75 million salary will likely deter some suitors.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed Monday that Abreu will be placed on the 10-day injured list with a side injury, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Abreu came off the bench in Sunday's win over the Yankees, flying out in his final plate appearance in the top of the ninth inning and catching a flyout in the bottom of the frame. Evidently, he tweaked something in his side at some point during the contest and will need at least the next week and a half to recover. Top prospect Roman Anthony will be called up from Triple-A Worcester to take Abreu's spot on the roster and in the outfield.

The Red Sox are slated to promote Anthony from Triple-A Worcester ahead of Monday's game against the Rays, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

The Red Sox have already released a lineup for Monday that doesn't include Anthony, but Rosenthal says Anthony is slated to bat fifth after he's officially added to the roster. Arguably the top prospect in all of baseball, Anthony has slashed .288/.423/.491 with 10 home runs and a 56:51 K:BB over 58 games this season with Worcester. Wilyer Abreu appears headed to the 10-day injured list with an unspecified injury to clear a spot on the active roster for Anthony.

The Red Sox selected Van Belle's contract from Triple-A Worcester on Monday.

Van Belle has collected a 2.29 ERA and 41:7 K:BB over 51 innings covering eight starts and four relief appearances this season at Worcester. The 28-year-old will give the bullpen some length and will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.
