The Angels are expected to call up Bachman ahead of Friday's game at Baltimore, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Bachman started the season on the injured list due to thoracic outlet syndrome and was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake City once he was activated in mid-May. He has dominated at Triple-A, allowing one earned run in 11.1 innings with 11 strikeouts, although he's also issued nine walks. He's expected to take Shaun Anderson's spot in the Angels' bullpen.

Wells was placed on the Double-A Chesapeake 7-day injured list Friday due to right shoulder inflammation, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Wells had a brief bout of abdominal discomfort in May, but he'll hit the injured list Friday for the first time in 2025. The 23-year-old has posted a 3.29 ERA and a 36:12 K:BB over 38.1 innings with Chesapeake this season.

Bright was placed on Double-A Chesapeake's 7-day injured list Friday due to a strained right forearm, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bright's 2025 campaign has hit another snag. The 24-year-old has a 1-5 record in 11 starts with Chesapeake, posting a 5.17 ERA and a 38:34 K:BB over 47 innings.

The Astros traded Whitely to Tampa Bay on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Per Chandler Rome of The Athletic, the Astros will receive cash considerations. Whitley was sidelined for a significant portion of the first two months of the 2025 season due to a pair of knee injuries. He stumbled to a 12.27 ERA over 7.1 innings in five appearances with the Astros before being designated for assignment Sunday. The 27-year-old will get a fresh start with the Rays as he tries to reclaim his 2024 form, when he logged a 1.89 ERA over 33.1 innings at Triple-A Sugar Land and threw 3.1 scoreless innings for the Astros.

Taveras cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.

The Mariners booted Taveras from the 40-man roster Monday and he went unclaimed on waivers. The 26-year-old outfielder will look to get back on track with Tacoma after slashing .174/.198/.272 across 98 plate appearances with Seattle. Taveras slashed .241/.259/.342 with the Rangers earlier this season before being waived in early May.

Cannon (back) is expected to go on a rehab assignment soon, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Cannon has been on the shelf since June 13 due to a back strain but is ready to begin ramping things up. It's unclear how many rehab outings he will need before being activated from the 15-day IL, but a late June return seems plausible.

Rodriguez is slashing .347/.438/.438 with one home run, nine steals and a 14.8 percent strikeout rate in 46 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Rodriguez, 23, doesn't have big power, but he has a rare combination of a strong hit tool and notable speed for a surefire catching prospect. He is on the 40-man roster, so if Austin Wells were to get injured, Rodriguez could find himself splitting time with J.C. Escarra behind the dish.

Montero is slated to handle a bulk relief role Friday versus the Reds, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Brant Hurter will open for the Tigers before handing things off to Montero. Montero is not unfamiliar with bulk relief, having pitched in that role in three of his last five outings. He has not pitched well following an opener this season, however, posting a 7.36 ERA.

Hurter will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher in Friday's game against the Reds, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

It will be the second "start" this week for Hurter, who allowed one run over 2.2 innings Tuesday in Baltimore. Hurter has recorded more than three outs in 16 of 19 appearances this season, so he's capable of providing a little more length than your typical opener. Keider Montero is expected to handle a bulk relief role for Detroit.

The White Sox acquired Civale from the Brewers on Friday in exchange for first baseman Andrew Vaughn, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Civale requested a trade after being told earlier this week that he would be demoted to the bullpen, and Milwaukee has quickly accommodated the request. The veteran right-hander last pitched Monday, so he could join Chicago's rotation as soon as Saturday against the Rangers. Civale held a 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB in 22 innings over his five starts with Milwaukee this season.
