Sanchez was pulled from Saturday's game against Atlanta due to right knee pain, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

It's unclear how Sanchez injured his knee, but he made an early exit in the fifth inning and is scheduled to undergo an MRI. With Adley Rutschman (oblique), Maverick Handley (concussion) and Chadwick Tromp (back) all on the injured list, Jacob Stallings would benefit from additional playing time if Sanchez has to miss a few starts.

Meyers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Meyers went 3-for-5 with three runs scored during Friday's 18-1 rout of the Dodgers, giving him six hits in his last three games. He'll get a chance to rest Saturday while Mauricio Dubon starts in center field, giving Zack Short a chance to start at shortstop.

Dingler isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

After going 2-for-4 in Friday's series opener, Dingler will retreat to the bench Saturday while Jake Rogers catches for Casey Mize and bats ninth.

The Astros optioned Alexander to Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Alexander worked three scoreless innings Friday against the Dodgers to pick up the first save of his MLB career, but he'll be sent back to Triple-A to free a spot in the bullpen for the newly signed Hector Neris. Alexander's 1.72 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in the minors this season, haven't quite translated into big-league success, as he's given up 14 earned runs over 15 innings between the Astros and Athletics.

The Yankees are expected to call up Schlittler from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start either Tuesday or Wednesday against the Mariners in New York, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

With Clarke Schmidt (forearm) likely destined for season-ending Tommy John surgery, the Yankees will turn to one of their top pitching prospects to fill the hole in their starting rotation. Schlittler, 24, owns a 3.80 ERA and 1.25 WHIP through five starts (23.2 innings) at Triple-A, though nearly all of the damage done against him came during his most recent outing Tuesday, when he allowed seven runs (six earned) in 2.1 innings.

Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

After going 0-for-5 in Friday's series opener, Manzardo will take a day off to regroup while Jose Ramirez works as Cleveland's DH. Daniel Schneemann will move to third base as a result, and Angel Martinez will start at second.

Thomas (foot) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Symptoms of plantar fasciitis forced Thomas to make an early exit from Friday's game, and it will now cost him a start Saturday. While he sits, Steven Kwan, Nolan Jones and Johnathan Rodriguez will start across the outfield for Cleveland.

The Guardians reinstated Sewald (shoulder) from the injured list Saturday.

A strained right shoulder has kept Sewald on the shelf since late April. He began a rehab assignment in the minors June 25, during which he gave up two earned runs on four hits and no walks while striking out five batters across four innings. Now fully recovered, the 35-year-old will likely claim a middle-relief role in Cleveland's bullpen, pushing out Doug Nikhazy.

The Guardians optioned Nikhazy to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.

Just two days after being promoted to Cleveland, Nikhazy will head back to Triple-A following his one-inning shutout performance Friday. His departure clears a spot on the active roster for Paul Sewald (shoulder) to return from the injured list.

Manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Houck (elbow) will make another rehab start in the minors this week, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Houck turned in the best performance of his rehab assignment so far Friday at Double-A Portland, firing five shutout innings while striking out four batters. The upcoming All-Star break makes it hard to predict when the 29-year-old right-hander will rejoin the Red Sox, though he likely isn't too far away from activation.
