The Red Sox will recall Hamilton from Triple-A Worcester prior to Thursday's contest against the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

He'll take the roster spot vacated by Abraham Toro, who will be designated for assignment. Hamilton has slashed only .174/.227/.265 in 69 games with the big club this season, but he's a better fit for Boston's bench than Toro.

The Red Sox will designate Toro for assignment prior to Thursday's game versus the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

The writing on the wall for Toro to lose his 40-man roster spot following the team's addition of Nathaniel Lowe, and Toro didn't help himself with a .524 OPS in his last 49 games. David Hamilton will be recalled from Triple-A Worcester to replace Toro on the active roster.

Rave is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers.

Rave was included in the lineup for each of the Royals' last four games -- all against right-handed starters -- and went a collective 1-for-12 at the plate, bringing his average down to .205 for the season. The left-handed-hitting outfielder will head to the bench Thursday while southpaw Patrick Corbin takes the hill for Texas, and Rave could soon be at risk of losing out on more opportunities to play against right-handed pitching with rookie Jac Caglianone (hamstring) on track to return from the injured list as soon as this weekend.

Houston was recently promoted to High-A Cedar Rapids. He's 1-for-10 with a stolen base in his first two games. He was promoted after hitting .370 with a .868 OPS for Single-A Fort Myers in 12 games.

Houston, the 16th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, was a bit old for Single-A at age 21 out of Wake Forest, so this isn't too surprising. Still, it shows the Twins are optimistic about his progress after an initial look at Fort Myers.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers.

The left-handed-hitting Frazier had started in each of the Royals' last 10 games while occupying four different spots (designated hitter, second base, third base and left field), but he'll take a seat for the series finale as Texas sends a lefty (Patrick Corbin) to the bump. Kansas City could get another impact bat in Jac Caglianone (hamstring) back from the injured list this weekend, but Frazier's versatility and solid production since being acquired from the Pirates over the All-Star break (.301/.333/.434 slash line in 26 games) should allow him to retain a near-everyday role.

Yastrzemski is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Rangers.

Yastrzemski has started all 16 games versus righties since being traded to the Royals, but the left-handed batter has now been out of the lineup for all three contests against lefties. Randal Grichuk will handle right field and bat fifth against Rangers southpaw Patrick Corbin.

Bleday is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

The left-handed-hitting Bleday had started in each of the Athletics' last three games against right-handed pitchers, but after mustering just one hit while striking out four times in 13 plate appearances over that stretch, he'll hit the bench Thursday. Carlos Cortes will fill in as the starting right fielder in place of Bleday as the Athletics take on Minnesota right-hander Jose Urena.

Urias is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

He'll give way to Max Schuemann at second base for the series finale after occupying the keystone in each of the previous three contests. Urias has received steady playing time in August but hasn't provided much production, hitting just .233 with no home runs or steals, four RBI and two runs through 13 games this month.

Isbel is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers.

The Rangers are sending southpaw Patrick Corbin to the bump, so the left-handed-hitting Isbel will begin the contest on the bench. Tyler Tolbert will patrol center field and bat ninth for the Royals.

Langeliers is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Langeliers had started every game at either catcher or designated hitter since the All-Star break, so he'll get a well overdue day off as the Athletics close out their series in Minnesota. Willie MacIver will receive a turn behind the dish Thursday.
