The Red Sox transferred Dobbins (knee) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for lefty Steven Matz, who was acquired via trade with the Cardinals. Dobbins is out for the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee.

Polanco went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Athletics on Wedneday.

Polanco's homer was a two-run shot in the seventh inning that reduced Seattle's deficit from three runs to one. The long ball was his 17th of the campaign, marking the most he has hit during a regular season since he went deep 33 times for Minnesota in 2021. Part of Polanco's increase in production this year has been due to health. He's had a few nagging issues but has been able to play in 90 games so far. after averaging just 100 regular-season contests over the past three campaigns.

Hernaiz went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 5-4 win against Seattle on Wednesday.

Hernaiz isn't known for his power, but he gave the A's a 4-1 lead with a 410-foot shot to left field in the fifth inning Wednesday. It was just his second start of the season after being recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. Hernaiz shouldn't be looked to for power -- he hit just four home runs over 95 games with Las Vegas -- but he could provide a decent batting average boost if he plays enough, as he's hit over .300 in every minor-league stop since the beginning of the 2023 campaign.

Andujar went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in a 5-4 victory versus the Mariners on Wednesday.

Andujar was a thorn in Seattle starter Bryan Woo's side Wednesday, tagging the hurler for a solo homer in each of the fourth and seventh frames. Andujar went 26 games without a long ball between May 14 and July 26, but he's since erupted for three home runs over his past four games. He's batting .467 with five RBI over that latter stretch.

Woo (8-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Athletics, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 6.1 innings.

Though Woo completed at least six innings for the 21st consecutive time to begin the campaign, this was far from a strong outing. He tied a season-worst mark by allowing five runs and doubled his previous season-worst tally by surrendering four homers. All of the long balls were solo shots, so Woo was at least able to keep his team in the game. Woo hasn't earned a win in any of his past four starts, posting a mediocre 4.56 ERA despite a strong 1.01 WHIP during that span. He'll try to get back in the win column in his next start, which lines up to be a home matchup against the White Sox.

Perkins allowed one run on one hit with no walks or strikeouts over two innings to notch a save against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Perkins entered in the eighth inning and retired the side in order in that frame. He served up a solo homer to Randy Arozarena in the ninth but didn't give up any additional hits and finished off the win to record his third save. Perkins has been quite effective for the A's since making his big-league debut June 22, posting a 2.75 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB over 19.2 innings spanning eight appearances. Interestingly, manager Mark Kotsay said after Wednesday's contest that closer Mason Miller was unavailable, per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, despite not dealing with an injury and not having pitched since July 26. Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Athletics and Padres are in discussions on a trade for Miller, and if the fireballing reliever were to be dealt, Perkins could be a candidate to ascend to the closer role.

Springs (10-7) earned the win over Seattle on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six innings.

Springs racked up an impressive 14 whiffs and seven punchouts while holding the Mariners to one run, which came on a Julio Rodriguez solo homer in the first inning. Springs retired 16 of the final 17 batters he faced and tossed an efficient 89 pitches -- 56 of which were strikes. The southpaw has recorded back-to-back quality starts following a five-run, four-inning blowup against Cleveland in his first start coming out of the All-Star break. Springs is lined up to next face the Nationals on the road next week.

Schanuel went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rangers.

Schanuel brought the Angels to within three runs with his two-run blast in the eighth inning, but those were the final runs either team would score. The first baseman isn't known for his power, and Wednesday's long ball was his first over his past 22 contests. Schanuel is at nine home runs on the season after going deep 13 times across 147 games in his first full MLB campaign last year.

Garcia went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 6-3 win against the Angels on Wednesday.

Garcia's eighth-inning long ball turned a one-run lead into a three-run lead for Texas. It was his second homer through 12 games since the All-Star break and his 15th overall this season. He's at just a .667 OPS through 104 games, though, which is on pace to be his lowest over a full season in his big-league career.

Warren didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Rays, allowing one run on six hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out four.

Wednesday marked the first time that Warren worked at least six innings since his June 22 start versus the Orioles. The 26-year-old right-hander matched a season high with 102 pitches as well, and he even issued fewer than two walks for the first time since his June 17 outing against the Angels. Warren still holds a shaky 4.64 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 128:51 K:BB over 110.2 innings. He's set to square off with the Rangers in Arlington his next time out.
