Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Royals.

That's now three straight multi-hit games and five such efforts in his last seven outings for Gonzalez, who's slashing a robust .313/.346/.612 with 25 extra-base hits and 34 RBI over his last 159 plate appearances since the start of May. The 28-year-old infielder drew the start versus right-hander Michael Wacha on Wednesday, so it's possible his hot hitting is earning him more playing time against righties. Even so, Gonzalez still has a 1.072 OPS versus southpaws as opposed to a .737 OPS against righties in 2025.

Flaherty (6-11) took the loss against the Twins on Wednesday, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Flaherty allowed runs in four separate innings and struggled to locate, throwing just 49 of 82 pitches for strikes while generating only four whiffs. The 29-year-old entered the contest with back-to-back quality starts and a 2.40 ERA over three outings since the All-Star break, but Wednesday marked the fifth time he's allowed five or more runs this season. He owns a 4.56 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 147:48 K:BB across 120.1 innings and will look to rebound in a road matchup with the White Sox early next week.

Soderstrom went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Washington.

Soderstrom went yard for the 20th time this season Wednesday. While he's cooled down a bit since taking the major leagues by storm with a .989 OPS through April 25, the 23-year-old slugger has remained very productive of late. Across 109 plate appearances since the beginning of July, Soderstrom is slashing .275/.321/.549 with six homers, 10 doubles and 19 RBI.

Walker went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Miami.

The 34-year-old first baseman swatted his 16th long ball of the year, and he continues to dig his way out of the early season slump that saw him post a .635 OPS through June 29. Over 124 plate appearances (28 games) since the beginning of July, Walker is slashing .306/.363/.514 with six big flies, five doubles and 24 RBI, bringing his OPS for the campaign up to .700.

Springs didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Nationals, allowing one run on one hit and no walks in six innings. He struck out five.

Springs brought a bid for a perfect game into the sixth inning, but he was taken deep by Riley Adams to end those hopes. The left-hander hurled at least six innings for the fifth time in his last six starts, and he's become a fairly consistent fantasy play following a sluggish start to the year that saw him post a 6.04 ERA through April 26. Springs owns a 3.30 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 80:24 K:BB over 103.2 innings since the start of May, and he's next lined up for a favorable home matchup versus a Rays team with a .591 OPS against left-handed pitching since the beginning of July.

Garcia (1-7) took the loss Wednesday against the Yankees, giving up one run on two hits in two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one.

Making his first appearance since a bout of back spams last weekend, Garcia was brought into a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning and served up what proved to be a game-winning solo shot to Paul Goldschmidt. Garcia has been taken deep in three straight games, and since the beginning of July he's stumbled to a 4.82 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB in 9.1 innings, ratios that would be even worse if it weren't for four unearned runs on his ledger. Phil Maton got the save for the Rangers on Tuesday, and Garcia's hold on the closer role could be hanging by a thread.

Leiter came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Yankees, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out three.

The young righty threw only 33 of 68 pitches for strikes before getting the hook, as Leiter failed to complete at least five innings for the third time in six starts since the beginning of July. Despite those struggles, he's still managed to post a respectable 3.45 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 28.2 innings over that stretch, albeit with a 1.46 WHIP and 20 walks. Leiter will look to improve his efficiency in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Diamondbacks.

Bednar struck out five batters over 1.2 scoreless innings Wednesday, giving up one hit and two walks, to record his 18th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Rangers.

The trade-deadline acquisition collected his first save in pinstripes with the rest of the Yankees' high-leverage crew having seen heavy usage lately -- Devin Williams, Luke Weaver and Camilo Doval all pitched both Monday and Tuesday, forcing Bednar to throw 42 pitches (25 strikes) Wednesday to get the job done. That said, Williams has been struggling again of late, getting tagged for runs in four straight outings and taking two blown saves and a loss in his last three. If he gets removed from the closer role again, Bednar might be the next man up, although Weaver has been very effective of late with a 2.13 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB over his last 12.2 innings. Despite the team's efforts to bring in help, the back of the Yankees' bullpen appears to be just as unsettled as ever.

Rodon came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Rangers, giving up two runs on six hits and four walks over five-plus innings. He struck out three.

The veteran lefty once again struggled to get the ball over the plate consistently, issuing at least three free passes for the fifth time in his last seven starts. Over that stretch, Rodon has produced a 4.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 40:22 K:BB in 38 innings. He'll try to tighten things up in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Twins.

Arrighetti (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing five runs on 11 hits and one walk in 3.2 innings. He struck out five.

Arrighetti showed plenty of rust and a lack of command on his pitch locations in his first major-league start since April 5 in Minnesota, surrendering a career-high 11 hits Wednesday in his first game back from a thumb fracture. The 25-year-old right-hander did produce 16 whiffs during his abbreviated outing, which was perhaps an encouraging takeaway, but he may have been a bit too aggressive in attacking the strike zone overall. Arrighetti has a rough 7.43 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB over his first 12.2 innings this year, so he'll try to right the ship during a scheduled home tilt versus the Red Sox his next time out.
