Guardians' Austin Peterson: Returns to action at Triple-A
Peterson (triceps) has made two starts for Triple-A Columbus since being activated from the 7-day injured list Tuesday, covering seven innings and striking out six batters while yielding one earned run on four hits and one walk.
Peterson was shelved to begin the season after being diagnosed in late February with a right triceps strain, but he appears to have made a seamless recovery from the injury and was able to join the Columbus rotation last week without requiring a rehab assignment. The Guardians added the 26-year-old righty to their 40-man roster over the winter, but he remains somewhat buried on the organizational depth chart and may need the Cleveland rotation to lose multiple key arms before getting the chance to make his MLB debut.

Guardians' Austin Peterson: Cut from big-league camp
The Guardians optioned Peterson (triceps) to minor-league camp Friday.
Peterson suffered a right triceps strain in late February and will not be ready for the start of the season. Once healthy, he'll be ticketed for the rotation at Triple-A Columbus.

Guardians' Austin Peterson: Out 6-to-8 weeks
Peterson was diagnosed with a right triceps strain Saturday and will require roughly 6-to-8 weeks of recovery time, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Peterson suffered the injury during his appearance in Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers. He won't be able to make another appearance this spring and will almost certainly begin the regular season on either the Guardians' injured list or Triple-A Columbus' IL.

Guardians' Austin Peterson: Added to 40-man roster
The Guardians selected Peterson's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Peterson struggled a bit after being promoted to Triple-A in June, posting a 4.27 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 90.2 innings compared to the 1.47 ERA and 0.82 WHIP he held in 55 frames at Double-A Akron. The 26-year-old's addition to the 40-man roster will prevent him from being selected in the Rule 5 Draft, but the Guardians will likely keep him in Triple-A to begin the 2026 campaign.
