Vinnie Pasquantino 1B | KC
Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino: Homers in second straight
Pasquantino went 2-for-3 with a solo homer, a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over Texas. He was also hit by a pitch.
Pasquantino ripped a solo shot in the first inning for his 24th long ball of the year. He's gone deep in back-to-back games and has five home runs over his last nine games. Pasquantino later doubled and scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning of Tuesday's victory. The lefty slugger is now slashing .259/.320/.458 with 46 extra-base hits and 83 RBI through 124 games this season.

Bryce Miller SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryce Miller: Shaky in return Tuesday
Miller didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out four.
Miller wasn't sharp in his first major-league start since early June after missing over two months due to elbow inflammation, serving up multiple home runs for the first time this season. However, it was at least encouraging to see the right-hander generate 15 whiffs and work at least five innings for the eighth time in 11 starts this year. Miller tossed 85 pitches Tuesday, so he should be just about ready to handle a full workload in his next scheduled start versus the Padres. Through 53.2 innings, he has a poor 5.87 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 43:25 K:BB.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Ready for rehab assignment
Mateo (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mateo has been on the injured list since early June, first due to left elbow inflammation and then a strained left hamstring, the latter of which he suffered during a rehab game June 29. The veteran speedster should be able to rejoin the Orioles in early September, but Mateo is unlikely to serve as more than a pinch runner and defensive replacement down the stretch as a youth movement begins to take shape in Baltimore.

Parker Messick SP | CLE
Guardians' Parker Messick: Set for first major-league start
Messick will draw the start on the mound for the Guardians' series finale against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Messick is expected to be called up from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, and manager Stephen Vogt confirmed that the left-hander will make his major-league debut as a starter. Messick has compiled a 3.47 ERA over 98.2 innings in 20 starts with Columbus this season, and he's posted an even better 2.93 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 36 strikeouts over 30.2 frames in his last five outings.

Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Remaining on bench
Jung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
It's the third straight game on the bench for Jung, who has a .179/.238/.308 slash line and 28.6 percent strikeout rate through 12 games in August. Josh Smith will instead man third base while Rowdy Tellez receives another start at first.

Kyle Higashioka C | TEX
Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Still sitting Tuesday
Higashioka (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
Higashioka will sit for a fourth straight game Tuesday as he continues to deal with a mild hamstring injury. Jonah Heim will receive another start behind the plate for the Rangers.

Jonathan Loaisiga RP | ARI
Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: Arm issue surfaces
Manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Loaisiga (back) was pulled off his rehab assignment and sent for medical testing after experiencing soreness in his right elbow/triceps, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
The right-hander has been working his way back from right mid-back tightness and delivered a scoreless frame in his first rehab outing Sunday, but he's now dealing with an arm issue. Loaisiga missed most of the previous two seasons due to injuries and has been inconsistent when available in 2025 with a 4.25 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB over 29.2 innings.

Brent Headrick RP | NYY
Yankees' Brent Headrick: Lands on injured list
The Yankees placed Headrick on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to a left forearm contusion.
It's unclear when Headrick sustained the injury, as he hasn't pitched since last Wednesday against the Twins. The left-hander will be eligible to be reinstated Aug. 31, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point.

Dominic Canzone DH | SEA
Mariners' Dominic Canzone: On bench Tuesday
Canzone (arm) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
The 28-year-old had X-rays come back negative after being hit by a pitch during Monday's game against the Phillies, and he'll be held out of the lineup for at least one game. Dylan Moore will receive a start in right field Tuesday in place of Canzone.

Luis Garcia SP | NYY
Astros' Luis Garcia: Making rehab start Tuesday
Garcia (elbow) will make a rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The right-hander threw 77 pitches over 4.2 frames during his seventh rehab outing last week, and he'll take the mound again Tuesday for what could be the final appearance of his rehab assignment. Garcia hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023 due to Tommy John surgery and some recovery setbacks.
