Boyle (1-3) allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits and three walks while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Cardinals on Thursday.

The one bright spot was that he kept the ball in the yard for just the second time in his last six outings. Boyle has allowed at least six runs three times in that span, and he's also issued three or more walks in three of those starts. For the season, the 26-year-old is at a disappointing 5.40 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 39:21 K:BB through 36.2 innings over 10 appearances (six starts). Boyle is tentatively projected to make his next start at Cleveland.

Silseth was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

Silseth was recalled Wednesday but will head back to the minors just one day later. He has yet to pitch in the majors in 2025, but he's maintained a 3.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with a 41:24 K:BB across 36 innings with Salt Lake.

Wilson (forearm) is likely to be activated from the injured list in time for series in Seattle that begins Friday, MLB.com reports.

Wilson is hitting .214 (3-for-14) with a home run in four games during his rehab assignment. If he doesn't have a setback Thursday, there's a good chance he'll return to the A's lineup Friday.

Rice went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a triple and a walk in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Rice tied the game at 1-1 with his second-inning homer. That was his 20th long ball of the year, four of which have come over his last nine games. In that span, he's gone 12-for-34 (.353) with 10 RBI and a 7:10 BB:K. This is an impressive stretch for Rice, who has largely struggled with consistency as a batter this year despite his steady power hitting. He's slashing .243/.338/.489 with 47 RBI, 55 runs scored, three stolen bases, three triples and 21 doubles across 107 contests.

Gil allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and five walks while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision Thursday versus the Red Sox.

Gil continues to walk too many batters, with the five free passes issued Thursday marking a season high. He was once again able to avoid getting hurt by the high number of baserunners, but his pitch count got up early and he was done at 93 pitches (52 strikes). For the season, Gil has a mediocre 4.26 ERA, but it could be worse given his 1.68 WHIP and 17:13 K:BB through 19 innings over four starts. The right-hander's next start is projected to be a favorable home matchup versus the Nationals.

Hamilton went 1-for-3 with two walks, one stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.

Hamilton was recalled from Triple-A Worcester earlier in the day and delivered a strong effort in his first game back in the big leagues. The infielder is a candidate for playing time in the middle infield, especially with Ceddanne Rafaela in line for more usage in the outfield while Wilyer Abreu (calf) is on the injured list. Hamilton's speed is his best asset -- he has 18 steals on 22 attempts in the majors this season despite slashing a meager .178/.240/.267 across 148 plate appearances.

Bregman went 3-for-5 with a double and a walk in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.

Bregman wasn't directly involved in any run production, but he still had a strong game from the No. 2 spot in the order. The third baseman went 0-for-7 with three walks over this week's two-game series versus the Orioles but bounced back Thursday. Bregman has hit well overall, batting .303 with a .926 OPS, 16 home runs, 24 doubles, 52 RBI, 49 runs scored and a stolen base through 82 contests this season.

Anthony went 2-for-5 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.

Anthony supplied a game-tying RBI single in the sixth inning and then added a two-run homer for insurance in the ninth. This was his fourth multi-hit effort in the last five games, though he has just two extra-base hits in that span. The rookie outfielder is up to five homers, 26 RBI, 40 runs scored, four stolen bases, 17 doubles and one triple while slashing .286/.405/.448 through 59 contests.

Chapman pitched a perfect ninth inning with no strikeouts to earn the save in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Yankees.

Chapman threw just seven of 14 pitches for strikes, but he retired the heart of the Yankees' order on a popout and two groundouts. Dating back to July 26, Chapman has thrown 8.2 scoreless and hitless innings, posting a 9:2 K:BB over 11 appearances in that span. The 37-year-old closer is at 23 saves in 25 chances this year while maintaining a stellar 1.10 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 69:14 K:BB, numbers in line with or better than what he posted in his prime.

Giolito allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Thursday.

Giolito left the game in line for the loss, but the Red Sox were able to tie it up in the sixth inning before rallying for the win. This was the third time in six starts Giolito has fallen short of the five-inning mark. He's allowed 15 runs over 33.2 innings with a 21:14 K:BB in that span. That's not terrible, but the inconsistency is frustrating -- he's allowed just one run in three of those outings. He's now at a 3.72 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 91:37 K:BB through 111.1 innings over 20 starts this season. Giolito will look to rebound in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be a favorable road matchup in Baltimore.
