Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Lands on IL
Gonzalez was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left wrist sprain, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Fortunately, Gonzalez avoided a fracture, but he'll still be out until at least April 21 due to the injury. Cooper Criswell, who is starting Saturday's game against the Angels, was recalled in a corresponding move. The Red Sox may have to slide Ceddanne Rafaela to second base against lefties and Pablo Reyes to shortstop, unless they are willing to play David Hamilton against same-handed pitchers.

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Swipes first bag of season
Bichette went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's loss to the Rockies.

Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA
Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Makes first rehab appearance
Grissom (groin/hamstring) went 0-for-3 as the designated hitter for Triple-A Worcester on Friday.
Grissom kicked off a rehab assignment with the WooSox, serving as the DH for seven innings. The organization will want to see him play the field for a full nine innings and on back-to-back days before activating him from the 10-day injured list. He may not be the answer for Boston's shoddy infield defense, which has been on display since the team returned home following a successful season-opening road trip, but Grissom is expected to be an everyday member of the lineup once healthy.
-
David Hamilton SS | MIL
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Another error Friday
Hamilton went 0-for-3 and committed an error in Friday's 7-0 loss to the Angels.
After making an immediate splash in his first game up from the minors -- Hamilton homered in his first at-bat -- the infielder's made errors in two straight games that have led to unearned runs. He was not the only player with defensive miscues, and Red Sox manager Alex Cora doesn't have many options at shortstop, so he needs Hamilton to improve. Romy Gonzalez (wrist) is battling an injury, and the manager has said in the past that Pablo Reyes is not considered an everyday player.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Placed on injured list
The Twins placed Correa on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain.

The team is still awaiting the results of his MRI and will establish a timeline once they come back. Willi Castro will take over as Minnesota's primary shortstop while Correa recovers, opening the door for Kyle Farmer and Jose Miranda to see more action at the hot corner.
