Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Sitting for Game 1
Baez isn't in the Tigers' lineup for the first game of Saturday's twin bill versus Minnesota.
After striking out three times and failing to record a hit during Friday's contest, Baez will take a seat to kick off Saturday's activities. Zach McKinstry will get the nod instead at shortstop and bat seventh.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Diamondbacks' Kevin Newman: Two hits in loss
Newman started at shortstop and went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 9-6 loss to the Cardinals.
Newman made a fourth start over the last five games, once at second base and three times at shortstop, all coming against lefty starters. He'll continue to be part of the mix at short with Blaze Alexander and to a lesser extent, Jace Peterson.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: IL stint likely
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Friday that he expects Correa (side) to land on the injured list, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Correa had to exit Friday's loss to the Tigers early after suffering a right oblique strain during his at-bat in the third inning. The Twins will likely hold off making any decisions until the infielder's MRI results come back, but Baldelli's words suggest Correa's odds of avoiding the IL are slim. Willi Castro entered Friday's game as his replacement at shortstop and will likely remain there while Correa is out, opening up third base for Kyle Farmer or Jose Miranda.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Stays hot Friday
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's win over the White Sox.
De La Cruz's fourth home run of the year was a 449-foot moonshot during the Reds' five-run third inning. All four of his homers have come in the last four games, and the star shortstop is now slashing .333/.396/.708 with nine extra-base hits and 15 runs through 13 games. Also of note, De La Cruz has gone four straight games without striking out.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Homer, stolen base in win
Tovar went 2-for-5 with a home run, a stolen base, two total runs scored and two total RBI in Friday's 12-4 victory over Toronto.
Tovar extended Colorado's lead to 8-2 with a solo homer off Paolo Espino in the seventh inning, his third long ball of the year. It's Tovar's fourth straight multi-hit game and his sixth in his last seven contests -- he's gone 13-for-29 with three doubles and two homers in that span. The 22-year-old Tovar is now batting .340 with a .975 OPS, three home runs, eight RBI and two stolen bases through his first 53 at-bats this season.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Brewers' Willy Adames: Three hits, homer in win
Adames went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, a double and two additional runs scored in Friday's 11-1 victory over the Orioles.
Adames broke the game open in the fifth inning, cranking a three-run homer off Jonathan Heasley to extend Milwaulkie's lead to 7-1. The 28-year-old Adames had been stuck in a 1-for-14 slump in the three games prior to Friday's contest. He's gone 13-for-49 (.265) on the season with three homers, eight runs scored, seven RBI and a stolen base through 12 games.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Exits with injury
Correa was removed from Friday's game against the Tigers due to a right oblique strain, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Correa was grabbing at his right side after striking out in the top of the third inning and was replaced at shortstop by Willi Castro as the Twins took the field in the bottom half of the frame. The severity of the 29-year-old's injury remains unclear, but Kyle Farmer may see increased reps at shortstop should Correa's oblique force him onto the injured list.
-
Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
Marlins' Tim Anderson: Sitting with illness
Anderson is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Atlanta since he's feeling under the weather, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Anderson started at shortstop in Miami's first 13 games of the season, but he'll hit the bench for Friday's series opener since he's not feeling well. Vidal Brujan will take over at shortstop and bat ninth.

David Hamilton SS | MIL
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Commits key mistake in loss
Hamilton went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Orioles.
Hamilton notched his first stolen base of the season following a fourth-inning single, but that highlight was wiped out when he failed to step on second base on what looked like a routine double play in the eighth inning. The next batter (Anthony Santander) launched a two-run homer to give Baltimore the lead. From a fantasy perspective, the stolen base far outweighs the defensive lapse, though it'll be important for Hamilton to keep mistakes in the field to a minimum if he's to maintain a significant role in the wake of the season-ending shoulder injury to Trevor Story.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Goes deep in victory
Henderson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Thursday in a 9-4 extra-inning win against Boston.
Henderson was hitless until the 10th frame, when he smashed a two-run shot to left field to break a 3-3 tie. The long ball was his third of the campaign and extended his hitting streak to a modest three games. Henderson has notched one extra base hit in each contest during that stretch, and he has six extra-base knocks among his 11 total hits so far this season.
