Turner (hamstring) took batting practice Friday and had to be shooed off the field afterwards by third base coach Bobby Henley before he could get in many reps on defense, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

All signs point to Turner being ready to come off the disabled list Wednesday after the minimum 10 days, but manager Dusty Baker won't yet commit to that timetable. "He hit the other day, and said he felt pretty good. He's been getting a lot of treatment, riding the bike, and running as tolerated," Baker said. "So my experience with hamstrings is whenever they tell you they're ready, I believe in giving them another couple days." In fantasy leagues with weekly transactions, GMs with shares in Turner might face a tough choice on whether to activate him after this weekend or play it safe and wait until the following week, but either way the 23-year-old looks set to be back at the top of the Nats' batting order very soon.

Despite Mondesi's slow start in 2017, Royals general manager Dayton Moore said he believes the young second baseman gives the team its best chance to win right now, Sam Mellinger of The Kansas City Star reports.

After a somewhat surprising victory in spring's position battle against Whit Merrifield, Mondesi doesn't look much like a major leaguer so far in the regular season. Through nine games and 30 plate appearances, the 21-year-old is slashing .148/.179/.259 with nine strikeouts. Meanwhile, down on the farm in Omaha, Merrifield is manhandling Triple-A pitchers to the tune of .364/.400/.864 with three home runs through six games. Mondesi has the support of Royals management, and there's no challenging that he's the face of the future. However, something has to give if the trends of Mondesi and Merrifield continue as is.

Crawford will be in the lineup Friday against Colorado, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants have yet to release their lineup, but it has been confirmed that Crawford will indeed start for the Giants against Tyler Anderson and the Rockies. Crawford briefly left the team to tend to a family emergency, but was able to make a pinch hit appearance Thursday. It's still unclear whether Crawford will eventually head to the bereavement list, but for now, he will remain in the lineup.

Adrianza (oblique) is scheduled to appear in a game at extended spring training Monday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The utility infielder graduated to tee work and fielding drills earlier in the week, and it seems like he's on the mend and close to getting back into full game action. As long as everything goes well at extended spring training, he could embark on a rehab assignment in the next week or so.

Anderson will bat leadoff for Friday's series opener versus the Twins.

Anderson has primarily slotted in the two-hole of Chicago's batting order, but manager Rick Renteria decided to keep him atop the order after he led off Thursday's contest with a round-tripper. With this move, he'll bump Tyler Saladino back to the second spot, which could afford Anderson some more run-scoring opportunities with another solid bat hitting behind him.

Adames is just 3-for-29 (.103) through seven games for Triple-A Durham.

Adames has struck out nine times over that span, and it appears he will need some seasoning at this level before hitting the big leagues. Still, at just 21 years of age, Adames has double-digit potential in both home runs and steals at a rather thin fantasy position, making him a valuable commodity.

Arcia went 3-for-4 and scored a run in Thursday's victory over the Reds.

Arcia had just three hits total this season heading into Thursday's contest, but his first multi-hit effort of the campaign boosted his batting average nearly 100 points from .136 to .231. Despite the early struggles with the bat he has started eight of the Brewers' first 10 games, and he figures to continue playing regularly if he can keep hitting even just a little bit.

Gordon went 3-for-8 with a run scored in Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

He's now hit safely in eight straight games, pushing his slash line on the season to .293/.310/.341 in 42 plate appearances. Gordon's ability to beat out a bunt or infield hit at any time should allow him to bounce back significantly from last year's ,268 batting average.

Rojas went 3-for-7 in Thursday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

That doubles his hit total on the season, and Rojas is now hitting .286 (6-for-21) with two runs scored and two RBI. The 28-year-old has shown he can make consistent contact in the minors, including a .301/.343/.430 line in 65 games for Triple-A New Orleans in 2015, so don't be surprised if he collects a few more hits while filling in at shortstop for Adeiny Hechavarria (oblique).

Crawford (personal) grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning Thursday, Andrew Baggarly of the Bay Area News Group reports.

The shortstop left the team Wednesday after his wife's oldest sister passed away, but he rejoined the club Thursday around game time and served a role off the bench. Crawford probably will return to the starting lineup Friday.
