Story went 2-for-5 with a pair of homers and three RBI in Colorado's 10-6 loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

Story hadn't homered since Opening Day, but he broke out with a pair of long balls in a losing effort, touching up Brock Stewart in the seventh inning before adding another in the ninth off Yimi Garcia. He's now slashing .233/.303/.533 with three homers and five RBI through 30 at-bats, and perhaps the two-homer effort is a sign the 26-year-old is gearing up for a hot streak as he looks to replicate his electric 2018 campaign.

Fletcher is starting at third base and batting ninth Friday night against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

With Andrelton Simmons (back) out of the lineup, Fletcher is set to see more action at the hot corner. If Simmons is forced to miss extended time, the Angels may elect to use Zack Cozart at shortstop, clearing the way for Fletcher to get regular starts at third.

Gordon exited Friday's game against the White Sox due to groin tightness, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Gordon appeared to injure himself as he dove back to first base on a pickoff attempt, but the Mariners indicated it's a minor injury. The 30-year-old should be considered day-to-day. Dylan Moore will fill in at second base.

Gordon left Friday's game against the White Sox with an apparent injury, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Gordon appeared to tweak something in his leg when diving back to first base on a pickoff attempt. The nature and severity of the issue are not yet clear.

Pennington signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Friday.

The 34-year-old doesn't have much left in the tank, as he owns a .220/.290/.298 slash line over the last four seasons. With the Yankees in an early-season injury crisis, it's possible he gets a look in a bench role, but for now he'll head to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Baez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-4 loss to the Braves.

Baez was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before going deep in the ninth inning to salvage his night from a fantasy perspective. The 26-year-old already has three home runs through six games this season, and he could be well on his way to hitting 30 or more home runs for the second straight year.

Perdomo will open the year with Low-A Kane County, Mike Rosenbaum of MLB.com reports.

This was an inevitable assignment for Perdomo, who demonstrated a pretty flawless approach last season in the Northwest League. If Perdomo hits the ground running against Low-A pitching, his dynasty-league stock will continue to soar.

Marte will open the year in the Dominican Summer League, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

While it would have been fun to see Marte challenged with a stateside assignment right out of the gate, his org. mate Julio Rodriguez was a top July 2 signee in 2017, went to the DSL in 2018, and was assigned to Low-A this year out of camp, so Marte will hope to follow that blueprint. He received a $1.55 million bonus on July 2, 2018, and has significant five-category upside.

Anderson (personal) was reinstated from the paternity list Thursday.

As expected, Anderson is back with the White Sox ahead of Thursday's series opener against the Mariners after his wife gave birth to the couple's second child Monday. Look for him to assume his normal spot in the lineup. Through three games, Anderson is 4-for-12 with a double and a stolen base.

Bogaerts (ankle) is starting at shortstop and hitting fifth Thursday against the A's, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports.

As expected, Bogaerts is back in action after fouling a ball off his foot Tuesday and subsequently sitting out Wednesday. The shortstop, who is 6-for-23 with a homer and a trio of doubles through six games this season, will face lefty Brett Anderson in his first game back.
