Bogaerts is not in Thursday's lineup against the Rangers.

This is his second day off this week as the Red Sox look to spread around the playing time down the stretch. Bogaerts is hitting .284/.341/.407 with two home runs and zero steals in 21 games this month. Chris Owings is starting at shortstop and hitting ninth.

Anderson went 4-for-5 with two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Indians.

Anderson's MLB-high batting average swelled to .339 following the four-hit effort, his fifth time this season with that may hits. He now has a 10-point lead over Christian Yelich and Ketel Marte, both of whom are injured and done for the season, and 11 points more than DJ LeMahieu. He's still a free swinger, chasing pitches outside the zone, but has improved his contact rate and enjoys a .402 BABIP.

Seager (hamstring) is expected to return to the lineup against the Giants on Friday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Seager was removed from Wednesday's contest against San Diego as a precautionary measure after feeling tightness in his left hamstring. Manager Dave Roberts indicated after the game that he isn't worried about Seager's hamstring: He said that the shortstop will be held out Thursday but is likely to be back in the lineup for the opener of a three-game series that begins Friday. The Dodgers have no motivation to rush Seager back after having already clinched home-field advantage through the NLCS, so his availability for Friday suggests that the issue is indeed minor.

Seager was removed from Wednesday's game against the Padres with left hamstring tightness, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

The Dodgers labeled the 25-year-old's exit as precautionary, but it remains a concerning development since he missed a month earlier in the season with a strain to the same hamstring. The team figures to remain cautious with Seager over the final four games of the regular season with home-field advantage already locked up.

Correa (back) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game at Seattle, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Correa missed Tuesday's contest due to back tightness but said after the game he expected to rejoin the lineup Wednesday, though he apparently isn't quite ready to roll. According to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle, the 25-year-old will sit again Thursday versus the Angels, though he said he would be OK to play were it the playoffs.

Camargo (lower leg) is doubtful for the NLDS, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Camargo has been sidelined since Sept. 11 with a fractured right shin. The utility man hasn't progressed as quickly as he hoped and still can't put full weight on his leg, making it unlikely that he'll be ready to return in time for the first round of the playoffs, which begins next week.

Story is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Giants.

Story will head to the bench after starting the past 10 games, going 12-for-38 (.316) with four home runs and a steal over that stretch. Garrett Hampson is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff in his place.

Manager Joe Maddon said he doesn't plan on using Baez (thumb) the rest of the season, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

This isn't all too surprising, as the Cubs are essentially eliminated from the playoffs. The shortstop put together another stellar season for Chicago, slashing .281/.316/.531 with 29 home runs and 11 steals in 136 games. Nico Hoerner should continue to fill in at shortstop for Baez.

Mondesi will undergo shoulder surgery for a tear in his joint next week, a procedure which will keep him out for five or six months, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Mondesi had already been ruled out for the season, but he's now at risk of missing time at the start of next year. Opening Day is just over six months away, so the stated timeline should still see him back on the field in time for the first game of the season, but even a small setback will likely result in him opening the season on the injured list. Regardless of his exact return date, he'll come with some injury risk during draft season, as it can never be fully guaranteed that a player will perform at his pre-surgery level immediately after returning to action.

Arcia is not starting Wednesday against the Reds.

Arcia has started the past six games and gone 6-for-22 (.273) with a double and a home run over that stretch. He'll give way to Cory Spangenberg at shortstop Wednesday as the Brewers look to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
