Mateo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

He'll cede shortstop duties to Chris Owings as the Orioles begin a seven-game week with a three-game set in New York. Mateo is getting a breather after a rough weekend series against the Rays in which he went hitless in 14 at-bats, bringing his season average down to .212.

Smith went 2-for-3 with a double and a run in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Smith mustered the only multi-hit effort of the day in yet another meager offensive output for the Athletics. The 25-year-old's .222/.243/.384 slash line leaves plenty to be desired, but he's now notably laced 11 of his 22 hits for extra bases.

Wendle (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Jupiter on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Wendle was eligible to be activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday, but he'll get some at-bats in the minors prior to rejoining the Marlins. It seems unlikely he'll return during the Marlins' upcoming two-game road trip in Tampa Bay, which begins Tuesday, but he could be back for the three-game set in Atlanta this weekend.

Berti (illness) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Jupiter on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Joey Wendle (hamstring) is also reporting to Jupiter this week to begin a rehab assignment, and both he and Berti should have similar timelines for making their respective returns to the Marlins' 26-man active roster. Berti, who has been on the COVID-19-related injured list since testing positive for the virus May 7, is expected to supplant Erik Gonzalez as the Marlins' top utility infielder once he's activated.

Adames (ankle) relayed that he's optimistic he'll be ready to return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible in Thursday's series opener in St. Louis, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "There's a lot of tests that I have to pass to prove to them I'm good enough to play on Thursday, but the work that we're putting in, we're going to have a really good chance of being ready for Thursday," Adames said.

Since landing on the IL on Wednesday due to the high left ankle sprain, Adames has been able to do some hitting and straight-line running without pain, but the Brewers want to ensure he has regained full lateral movement before activating him. Adames is scheduled to run the bases Tuesday, and if all goes well, he could test out his lateral movement in the field Wednesday. Even if being ready to go for Thursday's game proves to be too ambitious, Adames would still have a shot at returning later in the weekend in St. Louis.

Mauricio went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBI for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday.

The 21-year-old has seen his prospect status fade significantly over the last couple years, but the Mets still protected Mauricio from the Rule 5 draft in the offseason, and he's beginning to reward the organization's faith in him. He's batting .298 over his last 11 games with seven of his 14 hits going for extra bases, including three homers. However, he also has a 32 percent strikeout rate against a four percent walk rate over that stretch, and his inability to control the strike zone remains the biggest obstacle between Mauricio and a regular spot in the big-league lineup down the road.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-0 victory over the Yankees on Sunday.

Anderson smacked a three-run home run with two outs off Miguel Castro to cap the scoring in Chicago's five-run eighth inning. After being a late scratch (undisclosed) from Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader, Anderson returned to the lineup and led off for Game 2. It was his fourth straight multi-hit game and the sixth time in May that he's had three hits. For the month, he's slashed an impressive .397/.454/.513.

Edman went 3-for-6 with two doubles, three runs, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 18-4 win over the Pirates.

The 27-year-old started at shortstop for the second time in the last three games with Nolan Gorman back in the lineup Sunday, and Edman capped off a strong series against the Pirates with his three-hit performance. Edman has crossed the plate in nine of the last 12 games and has hit .280 with a home run, a triple, three doubles, 13 runs, seven RBI and three stolen bases during that time.

Swanson went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Miami.

Swanson knocked an RBI single in the fifth inning and added an RBI groundout in the ninth, but it wasn't enough to overcome Sandy Alcantara's complete game. He's up to six stolen bases after picking up two this weekend against the Marlins. The 28-year-old shortstop is hitting .242 in May, bringing his season slash line to .229/.301/.400 with 19 RBI.

Baez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Guardians.

Baez also struck out twice in the contest, and it's been a bit of a choppy first season in Detroit. The shortstop is batting just .207 with a .575 OPS and three home runs through 31 games. This was also Baez's first long ball since April 26, but he's been a streaky performer at times in the past, so a hot streak could be just around the corner with Sunday perhaps serving as the jumping off point.
