Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Plays five innings in first rehab game
Turner (wrist) played five innings at shortstop and went 0-for-3 at the plate in his first rehab game with Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
After being moved to the 60-day disabled list earlier this month, Turner won't be eligible for activation until Aug. 29, so it's expected that he'll remain with Syracuse for at least the next week. Unsurprisingly, Turner was eased back into action in his first game action since June 29, when he fractured his right wrist after being hit by a pitch. Turner should eventually play full games with Syracuse in back-to-back contests before the rehab assignment comes to an end, at which point the Nationals will reinsert him back into the lineup in an everyday role at shortstop or center field.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Marlins' Dee Gordon: Crosses plate three times Sunday
Gordon went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs scored in Sunday's win over the Mets.
After a 13-game slump in which Gordon hit .216 (11-for-51) and failed to swipe a base, he now has three hits and three steals in his last two games. The 29-year-old's 43 steals have him second in the majors behind Billy Hamilton's 51.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Gets start at third base Sunday
Crawford recently began to take grounders at third base and got his first start at the position Sunday at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Crawford had only played shortstop since the Phillies drafted him, but with Freddy Galvis entrenched at that position, the team is starting to consider other options. The 22-year-old Crawford had a terrible first half of the season, but he's hit .306/.397/.595 with 11 home runs in 173 at-bats since July 1. Maikel Franco has struggled this season and could lose at-bats to Crawford if the Phillies decide to promote him to the majors in September.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Starts up rehab assignment
Ahmed (hand) made his first rehab appearance Saturday with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona League squad, going 0-for-2 with a walk over his three plate appearances.
It marked Ahmed's first game action since June 27 against the Cardinals, when he suffered a fractured right hand that required surgery and later resulted in his placement on the 60-day disabled list. As a result of the lengthy layoff, Ahmed may need to appear in several more games before the Diamondbacks determine he's picked up sufficient at-bats and is ready to rejoin the big club. Once he's activated, Ahmed will likely step in as the Diamondbacks' top reserve in the middle infield, making trade-deadline pickup Adam Rosales a bit of a redundant piece on the roster.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Rehab assignment begins Monday
Turner (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
He has been out since June 29 with the wrist injury, and since he is on the 60-day disabled list, he cannot be activated prior to Aug. 29. Once activated, he should take over as the everyday shortstop in an effort to get locked in prior to the postseason. He was hitting .279 with seven home runs and 35 steals in 315 plate appearances before the injury.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Homers in second consecutive game Saturday
DeJong went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk Saturday against the Pirates.
DeJong launched his 20th bomb of the campaign in the eighth inning as the Cardinals tried to mount a comeback, though they came up short. He's now homered in back-to-back games to raise his slugging percentage to .591 to go along with a .305 batting average, and he's been a fantasy superstar for the nearly three months he's been in the lineup.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Cranks 10th homer
Crawford went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-2 drubbing of the Phillies.
It was Crawford's first homer in August, coming 53 at-bats into the month. The 30-year-old has reached 10 homers and 60 RBI in each of his last four seasons. Outside of the modest power and run production, it has been a down year for the slugging shortstop (.229/.279/.368).

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Continues torrid August
DeJong went 3-for-5 with a homer, two runs and two RBI on Friday against the Pirates.
DeJong connected on his 19th blast of the year to extend the Cardinals' lead in the third inning of a divisional win. He continues to rake, smashing five homers over his last 13 games, and he's been an elite fantasy option since joining the lineup in late May.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Homers in second straight game
Baez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's win over the Blue Jays.
He also made an outstanding defensive play in the ninth to rob Jose Bautista of a base hit. Baez has hit home runs in consecutive games and four homers in his last six starts, giving him an even 20 for the season. The 24-year-old is batting close to .300 since July 1, but he's struck out in roughly one-third of his plate appearances since that date.

Johan Camargo SS | SF
Braves' Johan Camargo: Participates in baseball activities Friday
Camargo (knee) was able to partake in some drills prior to Friday's game against the Reds, but is still likely a week away from embarking on a rehab assignment, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Camargo has been out for over a week while dealing with a right knee bone bruise after injuring it running onto the field. The infielder is going to need an extended period of time while recovering from this unlucky break, as he will likely wind up playing a few games in the minors on a rehab assignment before returning to Atlanta.
