Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Moves to leadoff
Story is starting at shortstop and hitting leadoff Wednesday against the Red Sox, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Story has primarily hit second this season, but he'll swap places in the order with Charlie Blackmon with a left-hander in Eduardo Rodriquez starting for the Red Sox. The shortstop has been dialed in since the start of August, slashing .380/.443/.652 with six home runs and five stolen bases in 23 games.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Gets day off
Swanson is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
Swanson has gone 0-for-8 with four strikeouts in a pair of games since returning from the injured list. He'll give way to Adeiny Hechavarria at shortstop for Wednesday's series finale as the Braves look to ease him back into action following nearly a month-long stay on the shelf.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Three hits in loss
Berti went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.
The 29-year-old continues to make the most of his first extended opportunity in the majors. Berti is slashing .309/.387/.500 through 25 games since rejoining the Marlins at the end of July with three homers, seven steals, 11 RBI and 22 runs, and he's provided the Marlins with a genuine threat in the leadoff spot for arguably the first time all season.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Big game in New York
Baez went 3-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Mets.
With the Cubs leading 2-1 in the sixth inning, Baez hit a two-run shot off Marcus Stroman to extend the lead, and he doubled home an insurance run in the eighth. The 26-year-old shortstop now has 29 home runs and 85 RBI this season as he approaches his career bests of 34 and 111, respectively, which both came in 2018.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Shifts rehab assignment to Triple-A
Rojas (hamstring) moved his rehab assignment to Triple-A New Orleans on Monday.
Rojas heads to the Pacific Coast League after back-to-back rehab games with High-A Jupiter over the weekend, with the 30-year-old going 1-for-7 with a double between those contests. He'll presumably play in a couple games for New Orleans before likely returning from the 10-day injured list when rosters expand Sunday. Once reinstated, Rojas should take over as the Marlins' primary shortstop, with Jon Berti potentially shifting to the outfield as a result.
-
Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Three hits Monday
Crawford went 3-for-4 (all singles) in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Crawford is batting just .236 through 120 games, so it may come as a bit of a surprise to hear that this was his fourth game with three or more hits this year. Despite all of his struggles, the veteran shortstop stuck in the lineup against a southpaw for the second consecutive contest. Manager Bruce Bochy continues to play Crawford on a near-everyday basis even with two right-handed options who can play short on the 25-man roster (Donovan Solano and Abiatal Avelino).

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Launches 24th homer
DeJong went 1-for-2 with a homer, three RBI, two runs scored and two walks in Monday's 12-2 win over the Brewers.
DeJong's sixth-inning blast gives him 24 this season, one away from matching the career-high 25 he hit as a rookie in 2017. He later knocked a sacrifice fly to score Tommy Edman in the eighth. The 26-year-old shortstop owns a .248/.331/.462 slash line with 64 RBI and 84 runs scored.
-
Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Scores three runs
Edman went 3-for-6 with a double and three runs scored in Monday's 12-2 win over the Brewers.
Edman continued swinging a hot bat Monday, picking up his fourth multi-hit game over the last five days. His OPS has jumped from .715 to .761 during that span to go along with 34 runs scored and 19 extra-base hits on the year.
-
Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Sitting for series opener
Arcia is not in the lineup Monday against the Cardinals.
Arcia has started nine of the past 10 games, slashing .212/.308/.394 with two home runs and a 5:5 BB:K during that stretch. He'll take a seat Monday for the second time in three games as Cory Spangenberg picks up another start at shortstop in his stead.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Back from injury
Swanson (foot) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Swanson wound up missing over a month with a bruised foot. He was in the middle of a career year prior to the injury, hitting .265/.330/.468 with 17 homers in 100 games. His return will push Adeiny Hechavarria to the bench, with outfielder Adam Duvall optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett to clear a roster spot.
