Marcano was recalled Tuesday from Triple-A El Paso.

The utility player fills one of the roster openings left by the three Padres on the COVID-19 injured list. Marcano received some at-bats during Fernando Tatis' early season absence and finds himself in a similar situation once again.

Mateo was placed on the injured list Tuesday due to health and safety protocols.

The extent of his stay on the IL will depend on COVID-19 test results. Mateo has been a top pinch-hitting option for the Padres this season, having recorded just one plate appearance in 13 of his 22 games thus far.

Baez was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against Cleveland with lower-back tightness.

The lineup released less than 30 minutes earlier had Baez returning from back tightness. However, manager David Ross said Baez is day-to-day and is not expected to require a stint on the injured list, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Baez (back) will start at shortstop and bat third Tuesday against Cleveland, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Baez was out of the lineup for Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Pirates due to back tightness, but he felt well enough to make a late-inning pinch-hitting appearance. After a team off day Monday, Baez looks like he'll be good to go for the Cubs' five-game week. The fact that Chicago is deploying Baez in the field rather than at designated hitter in Cleveland implies that the team is comfortable with his health.

Rojas is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Rojas sits for just the fifth time this season. He's having a solid season at the plate, hitting .286/.370/.455 through 127 plate appearances. Jon Berti starts at shortstop in his absence.

Camargo was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Camargo missed out on the Opening Day roster but is already in his third separate stint in the big leagues this season. He's seen infrequent action during his time with the team, going hitless in 12 at-bats. There's little reason to believe he'll suddenly have an important role this time around.

Seager went 3-for-5 with a double in the Dodgers' loss to the Angels on Sunday.

The Dodgers were quiet offensively Sunday as Seager totaled three of the team's four hits. It was the second game in a row that he tallied three hits. He reached base safely eight times in the weekend series against the Angels. The 27-year-old is slashing .273/.388/.447 in a team-leading 152 plate appearances. He's been patient in drawing 18 walks to go along with four home runs, 19 runs and 19 RBI.

Swanson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a single in Sunday's victory over the Phillies.

Swanson smoked his fourth homer of the year off Aaron Nola in the first inning. The shortstop was 5-for-11 in the series with his division rivals and he is now slashing .226/.299/.387 as he starts to pick it up after a sluggish start to the season.

Baez (back) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Pirates.

The 28-year-old exited Saturday's contest with back tightness, and he'll receive two days to rest between Sunday and Monday's scheduled off day. Ildemaro Vargas will work at shortstop in the series finale in Baez's absence for Chicago.

Lindor went 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI, one run, a walk and a stolen base in the Mets' 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Lindor may finally be catching a bit of a hot streak. The perennial All-Star reached base safely nine times in his last three games. He has a home run, three RBI, three runs and a stolen base in that stretch. Despite the recent burst, the 27-year-old is slashing a brutal .190/.317/.270 in 121 plate appearances with his new team.
