Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Busy day in win
Turner went 3-for-5 with one double, three runs scored and one steal in Sunday's victory over the Dodgers.
Turner scored all three times he reached base and stole his ninth base of the season. The shortstop slashed just .208/.257/.368 across 25 May contests, but he's off to a hot start in June, totaling 13 hits (five for extra-bases), five RBI, nine runs and two steals over 10 games.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Goes to bench Sunday
Crawford is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Crawford had started at shortstop in four of the past five games, but he'll give way to rookie Casey Schmitt for the series finale. Though Crawford still grades out well defensively, his middling .192/.276/.350 slash line over 134 plate appearances has made it difficult for the Giants to justify giving him an everyday role at this stage of his career. Expect him to continue to see part-time duties behind Schmitt while the Giants are at full strength in the infield.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: On bench against lefty again
Perdomo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
The switch-hitting Perdomo appeared to be moving out of a strict platoon role and into more of an everyday role a few weeks ago, but he'll now find himself on the bench for the second straight game while Detroit brings another southpaw (Joey Wentz) to the hill. Nick Ahmed will once again start at shortstop while Perdomo sits.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Cranks second homer
Ahmed went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Tigers.
Ahmed got the Diamondbacks on the board with a two-out, two-run homer in the second inning and has now hit safely in three straight contests. The long ball was only his second of the season as the shortstop continues to split time at the position with Geraldo Perdomo, with the former starting predominantly against left-handed pitching. Ahmed will now look to extend his hitting streak to four games after previously going hitless in six straight.
-
Casey Schmitt SS | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Heads to bench
Schmitt will sit Saturday against the Cubs, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Schmitt had been set for an off day Friday but wound up needed at third base after J.D. Davis was scratched with a minor hip issue. Davis is back in the lineup Saturday, so Schmitt will get his day off one day later than originally planned. After starting his MLB career with 11 hits in his first five games, the rookie owns an .492 OPS in his last 23 contests.
-
C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Heads to bench
Abrams will sit Saturday against Atlanta, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Abrams has started against every righty the Nationals have faced this season, but his off day here against Jared Shuster means he's now sat against three of the last five southpaws who started against the Nationals. Abrams has struggled to a .616 OPS against lefties this season, though that isn't all that much worse than his .668 OPS against right-handers. Ildemaro Vargas will start at shortstop Saturday.
-
Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Heads to bench
Rojas will sit Saturday against Philadelphia, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.
Rojas left Wednesday's game against the Reds with neck tightness and sat out Thursday's contest with the same issue, but he returned Friday and went 0-for-4 at the plate. He'll sit again Saturday, though it's unclear whether this absence has anything to do with his health. The veteran's .214/.248/.256 season slash line means he's fallen short of a true everyday role even when healthy. Chris Taylor will start at shortstop Saturday.
-
Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Remaining in center field
The Cardinals will continue to play Edman in center field even after the return of Dylan Carlson (ankle) on Friday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
At least while Lars Nootbaar (back) and Tyler O'Neill (back) are on the shelf, the Cardinals have a more pressing need for Edman's defense in center field than in the infield. Dylan Carlson's defense stands out more in right field, and having Edman and Carlson out there together lessens the strain on Jordan Walker in left field.
-
Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Heads to bench
Perdomo will sit Saturday against the Tigers.
Perdomo is a switch hitter but has been used in a platoon role with Nick Ahmed at shortstop this season. Perdomo has started against all but two righties this season (occasionally filling in at second base with Ahmed starting at short) but has gotten the call just once against a lefty. With southpaw Matthew Boyd starting for the Tigers, Ahmed gets the start.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Hitless in return
Rojas (neck) returned to the lineup against Philadelphia on Friday and went 0-for-4 in the 5-4 loss.
Rojas sat out Thursday due to neck tightness but missed only one contest. The veteran has worked as Los Angeles' primary shortstop this season, though he's produced a mediocre .217/.248/.256 slash line over 137 plate appearances. Rojas does have three stolen bases, but he's yet to go deep and has knocked in only six runs.
