  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Sitting against lefty

Perdomo isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.

The switch-hitting Perdomo has typically been held out of the lineup against southpaws this season, and the trend will continue for Tuesday's matchup against Julio Urias. Nick Ahmed will get the nod at shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

    Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Sitting Tuesday

Rojas isn't in the Dodgers' lineup Tuesday against Arizona, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

After going 2-for-5 with an RBI and scoring twice Monday against San Diego, Rojas will take a seat for Tuesday's series opener with the D-backs. Amed Rosario will fill in at shortstop and bat ninth.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Set for work at third base

The Mets are planning to begin a rotation with Mauricio at Triple-A Syracuse in which he will play second base, shortstop and third base, probably twice a week at each position, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Mauricio has made 41 starts at second, 26 in left field and 25 at shortstop so far this season, but he has yet to appear at third base. He will soon get reps at the hot corner as the Mets move him away from outfield duties and get him familiar at a position of need at the major-league level. Overall, the 22-year-old is batting .289/.338/.479 with 16 homers and 19 steals in 97 games with Syracuse this season.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Only source of offense Monday

Tovar went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 12-1 loss to the Brewers.

Tovar got the Rockies going with a first-inning blast, but Freddy Peralta and two relievers would combine to retire the next 26 Colorado batters in order. Tovar snapped a 10-game homer drought with his blast, which was his 11th of the season. The rookie shortstop has added a solid .253/.286/.416 slash line with five stolen bases, 50 RBI, 51 runs scored, 24 doubles and three triples over 105 contests in a near-everyday role.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: On bench against southpaw

Crawford is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Crawford will join fellow left-handed hitters Joc Pederson and LaMonte Wade on the bench while the Giants stock up on some extra right-handed bats to counter Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval. Mark Mathias and Thairo Estrada will serve as the Giants' starters in the middle infield while Crawford sits.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Will not start Monday

Adames is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

Adames has started every game since being activated from the 7-day injured list June 7, but he has posted a meager .484 OPS since the All-Star break, and manager Craig Counsell decided it was the right time for a mental break. Brice Turang will man the shortstop position for the Brewers on Monday night.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Delivers three XBH over weekend

Turner went 4-for-12 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI during the Phillies' three-game series with the Royals over the weekend.

In what's been a disappointing first season in Philadelphia, Turner might have had his finest moment in a Phillies uniform Saturday. He contributed two extra-base hits in the Phillies' 9-6 win, including a go-ahead three-run home run in the sixth inning that snapped a 21-game stretch without a long ball. Despite Turner's solid weekend, the Phillies aren't yet ready to move him up from the bottom-third of the lineup. He'll start at shortstop and bat seventh in Monday's series opener with the Nationals.

  • Matt McLain SS | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Taking seat Monday

McLain is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

The Reds are rolling with Elly De La Cruz at shortstop, Spencer Steer at third base and Kevin Newman at second against rookie right-hander Eury Perez. It's McLain's first day off since July 20.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swipes 18th bag

Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.

The Mets got shut out, but Lindor still found a way to make a fantasy contribution. The shortstop has been dialed in over the last couple weeks, slashing .346/.424/.596 over the last 14 games with three of his 22 homers and three of his 18 steals on the season as he closes in on his first 20-20 campaign since 2019.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Enters for injured Marte

Perdomo entered Sunday's game to play second base after Ketel Marte was removed due to a hamstring injury. Perdomo went 0-for-2 in a 5-3 loss to the Twins.

The road trip was rough for both team and Perdomo. After an extra-inning win over San Francisco to begin the excursion, Arizona lost its final six games. Perdomo went 4-for-27 (.148) with one walk. He's already the club's primary shortstop, so if Marte's injury lingers past Monday's off day, Jace Peterson could fill in at second base when Arizona kicks off a homestand Tuesday against the Dodgers.
