  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Hitless in return

Lawlar started in center field and went 0-for-4 in Monday's 11-1 loss to Boston. Lawlar, who missed the last two months due to a hamstring injury, was activated ahead of Monday's game. He's expected to resume a role as the primary starter in center field.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Raking on rehab assignment

Lawlar (hamstring) went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in a rehab game with Double-A Amarillo on Saturday. Lawlar has been tearing it up during his rehab assignment, producing a .250/.270/.667 slash line with five home runs and two stolen bases through nine contests at Double-A. The 24-year-old has checked several boxes in the recovery process -- including making starts in center field on consecutive days and playing full nine-inning games -- and appears to be ready to return from the 10-day injured list. However, the Diamondbacks plan to have the 24-year-old stay on assignment for another few games, according to MLB.com.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Could be activated next week

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Lawlar (hamstring) could return from the 10-day injured list during their upcoming road trip that begins Friday in Atlanta, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. Lawlar completed the seventh game of his rehab assignment with Double-A Amarillo on Wednesday, playing nine innings in center field while going 1-for-5 with a solo home run. He's now played nine-inning games on consecutive days, which is typically a sign of a player nearing activation. After the trip to Atlanta on Friday, the Diamondbacks move on to Boston for a three-game set beginning Monday.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Kicking off rehab assignment

Lawlar (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Amarillo on Tuesday, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports. Lawlar will play back-to-back rehab games Tuesday and Wednesday before the Diamondbacks determine the next steps for the outfielder. Considering Lawlar has been sidelined since late June with a strained right hamstring, he is likely to require a handful of rehab contests before being reinstated.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Yet to run at full speed

Manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday that Lawlar (hamstring) has been cleared for all baseball activities other than full-speed running, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. Lawlar has been stuck on the injured list since June 20 due to a strained right hamstring. According to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, Lovullo said that an MRI of Lawlar's hamstring hasn't shown full healing, but the 24-year-old has made enough progress in his recovery to do some light jogging along with all other baseball activities. Lawlar's ability to resume running at full speed will be a key factor in determining when he can potentially begin a rehab assignment with one of Arizona's minor-league affiliates. He's currently expected to return sometime in late July or early August, though that could be pushed back if he's unable to ramp up his running progression.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Hitting, running ahead of MRI

Lawlar (hamstring) has begun hitting in the cage and executing running mechanics, MLB.com reports. There's been little information about Lawlar's recovery since he landed on the injured list June 20. The return to baseball activities is encouraging, and the 23-year-old is expected to undergo a follow-up MRI on Friday. Injuries keep piling up for Lawlar, who's been impacted by poor health the last three seasons and played just 12 games in 2026. The report indicates a possible return in late July or early August.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Facing 4-to-6-week absence

Manager Torey Lovullo said June 20 that Lawlar will receive further imaging on his strained right hamstring during the All-Star break to gauge his healing, Steve Gilbert MLB.com reports. Lawlar appears to be facing a 4-to-6-week recovery timeline after he was removed from a June 19 win over the Twins when he strained the hamstring while trying to beat out a bunt single. The 23-year-old had already been shelved for just over two months earlier this season due to a fractured wrist, so the hamstring injury represents yet another major setback on the health front. Lawlar had settled in as the Diamondbacks' everyday center field prior to getting hurt, but Tommy Troy has since stepped in as the main replacement at the position.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Lands on injured list

The Diamondbacks placed Lawlar on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right hamstring strain. Lawlar had to come out of Friday's game after legging out an infield single, and he was later diagnosed with a hamstring strain. He'll now spend at least the next 10 days on the shelf, leaving Jorge Barrosa as the favorite to take over as Arizona's primary center fielder. Tim Tawa was recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Slated for MRI on hamstring

Lawlar will undergo an MRI on Saturday after suffering a right hamstring strain in Friday's win over the Twins, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Lawlar just returned from a wrist injury last week and is now facing the possibility of another IL stint depending on the severity of the strain. When asked whether he's optimistic about what the MRI will show, Lawlar said, "I'll wait for the imaging and then let you know." Jorge Barrosa has struggled at the plate with a .549 OPS this season, but he has been a plus player defensively for Arizona and would likely step in as the top center fielder should Lawlar have to miss more than a few days.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Drawing fourth straight start

Lawlar will start in center field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Angels. Lawlar has cracked the starting nine for a fourth game in a row, with the Diamondbacks having faced three lefties and one righty during that stretch. Since coming off the 60-day injured list Friday, Lawlar has gone just 2-for-12 at the plate, but he's reached base on four other occasions (two walks, two hit-by-pitches) and has gone 3-for-3 on steal attempts. With the Diamondbacks demoting Ryan Waldschmidt to Triple-A Reno earlier this week, Lawlar could have a clear path to playing regularly in center field.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Logs steal in win

Lawlar went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Reds. This was Lawlar's second appearance since coming off the injured list, and he's swiped bags in both contests (three overall), upping his total to four over eight games this season. Other than 2024, when injuries limited him to 23 games, Lawlar's posted double-digit stolen bases every year since becoming a full-time professional.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Activated, batting seventh Friday

The Diamondbacks reinstated Lawlar (wrist) from the 60-day injured list, and he is starting in center field and batting seventh Friday against the Reds. The 23-year-old landed on the injured list in early April due to a fractured wrist, but he's back with Arizona after posting a .736 OPS over an eight-game rehab assignment. Lawlar had a hot start to the year prior to the injury, going 6-for-20 with a homer, a double and a stolen base, and will look to pick up where he left off two months later.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Returning Friday

The Diamondbacks will reinstate Lawlar (wrist) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Reds, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports. Lawlar has been on the shelf since early April due to a fractured right wrist. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment May 30 and has since gone 6-for-28 with four walks, two RBI and five runs scored over eight games. Once activated, he'll be a candidate to start in the outfield until Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) returns from the IL.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Rehab moves to Triple-A

Lawlar (wrist) moved his rehab to Triple-A Reno on Thursday and played consecutive games for the Aces. He went a combined 3-for-7 with two doubles, a triple and an RBI. Lawlar played a full nine innings in center field Thursday and eight innings in left field a day later. He's had a combined 21 plate appearances between the ACL and Triple-A, but the Diamondbacks haven't made public a prescribed number of plate appearances for Lawlar, who has been out since early April. That he played the field on consecutive days is a positive sign that Lawlar could return within a week.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Takes live at-bats

Lawlar (wrist) took live at-bats Friday, MLB.com reports. Lawlar took live at-bats for the first time since suffering a fractured right wrist in early April, facing off against the rehabbing Corbin Burnes (elbow). Pending the outcome of Friday's activity, Lawlar could play in a complex game Saturday. He's projected to rejoin the Diamondbacks during the second week of June.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Takes batting practice

Lawlar (wrist) took on-field batting practice last week, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Lawlar felt good following the batting-practice session, though the skipper doesn't believe the infielder is ready for game action. Lawlar is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list June 2, but he'll likely need additional time beyond that to recover from his fractured right wrist before being activated.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Diamondbacks transferred Lawlar (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday. The 23-year-old was given a 6-to-8-week recovery timeline after fracturing his right wrist last week, but the move to the 60-day IL guarantees he will be on the shelf until at least early June. Prior to suffering the injury, Lawlar was off to a hot start this season, going 6-for-18 with a double, a home run and a steal across 20 plate appearances.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Out with fractured wrist

Lawlar was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a fracture in his right wrist and is expected to be sidelined 6-to-8 weeks, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. The 23-year-old's initial X-Rays came back negative after being hit by a pitch Thursday, but he underwent a CT scan Friday that revealed a fracture that will sideline him into at least mid-May. Jorge Barrosa and Tim Tawa figure to see a bump in playing time while Lawlar is sidelined.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: X-rays negative after HBP

Lawlar (hand/wrist) underwent X-rays, which came back negative, after Thursday's 17-2 loss to Atlanta, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports. He was struck in the right hand/wrist in the bottom of the seventh inning by a sinker from relief pitcher Osvaldo Bido. Lawlar appears to have avoided any significant damage, but the 23-year-old will undergo a CT scan Friday to confirm the diagnosis. If Lawlar is forced to miss any action moving forward, Tim Tawa could stand to see some added opportunities in the outfield against right-handed pitchers.

  • Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Starts in LF

Lawlar started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a double in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers. Lawlar started in the outfield for the first time as a major leaguer. He and Alek Thomas are expected to share left and center field until Lourdes Gurriel (knee) returns from the IL. Lawlar finished up spring training as the No. 9 hitter, but he was moved up to seventh on Opening Day.
