Williams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Williams seems to have faded into a part-time role of late, as he'll take a seat for the fourth time in seven games. With Williams on the bench, the Pirates will roll with Liover Peguero and Vinny Capra as their starters in the middle infield.

Reds manager David Bell said Sunday that McLain (oblique) will be out for another 2-to-3 weeks, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

McLain landed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right oblique strain, and while his return doesn't appear imminent, the Reds aren't yet dismissing the possibility of the rookie playing again before the end of the season. Spencer Steer has been filling in as the Reds' second baseman in place of McLain, while Elly De La Cruz has settled in as the team's primary shortstop.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a second run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Brewers.

The shortstop extended his hitting streak to 13 games with yet another impressive effort, and over that stretch Turner is slashing .357/.383/.929 with nine of his 21 homers and three of his 25 steals on the season. The 30-year-old has now posted his third straight 20-25 season, and he has yet to be caught stealing in 2023 -- in fact, he's nabbed 30 straight bags dating back to last September. Turner's career 85.9 percent success rate on the basepaths is the second-highest of all time among players with more than 200 attempts, behind only Carlos Beltran's 86.4 percent mark.

Winn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Tommy Edman will handle shortstop duties in the series finale after Winn manned the position in each of the past five games. While the long-term future remains bright for the 21-year-old rookie, he's gotten off to a slow start to his big-league career with a .170/.188/.213 slash line through his first 49 plate appearances for St. Louis.

Tovar went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Aided by Coors Field, Tovar has had a nice start to Colorado's current homestand, as he has collected six hits across 23 at-bats while tallying three doubles and four RBI in that stretch. He's also been on a nice power surge overall, racking up five homers and six doubles across his last 33 games. Despite some of his strong numbers of late, Tovar still has plenty of holes in his skill profile, as illustrated by his .309 wOBA and 78 wRC+ across 509 plate appearances on the season.

Arcia went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 4-2 extra-inning win over the Dodgers.

Arcia has homered three times and added eight RBI over his eight-game hitting streak. He's gone 11-for-30 (.367) in that span. His homer Saturday was a key hit, giving Atlanta the lead in the 10th inning. For the season, the shortstop has a career-high 17 long balls with 55 RBI, 57 runs scored, a stolen base and a .282/.336/.454 slash line in a career year.

Bogaerts went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Giants.

Bogaerts is up to 16 homers this year, four of which have come in his last 13 contests. While he's shown a little more power lately, he's batting just .220 (11-for-50) over that span. The shortstop is at a .261/.332/.399 slash line with 46 RBI, 61 runs scored and 13 stolen bases through 131 games this season, putting him on track for his worst numbers since 2014, which was his first full major-league campaign.

Crawford isn't in the Giants' lineup Saturday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Left-hander Blake Snell's presence on the mound for San Diego will force the lefty-hitting Crawford to the bench. Paul DeJong will start at shortstop instead and bat seventh.

Wendle isn't in the Marlins' lineup Saturday against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Wendle is just 1-for-13 across his last four games, so he'll head to the bench Saturday amid his offensive woes. Garrett Hampson will start at shortstop instead and bat seventh.

Lindor went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.

The shortstop scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, poking a leadoff single before stealing his 25th bag of the season and coming home on a Daniel Vogelbach hit. Lindor has now tied his career high in stolen bases, a mark he initially set in 2018 with Cleveland, and since the beginning of August he's slashing .303/.367/.440 with three homers, eight steals, 14 RBI and 21 runs in 28 games.
