Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Back in action Tuesday
Diaz (hamstring) is starting at second base and hitting sixth Tuesday against the White Sox, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.
He sat out a few games with a minor hamstring injury, but did not need a trip to the injured list. Diaz should serve as the everyday second baseman in the short term, but Jose Altuve (hamstring) is nearing a rehab assignment and could be back before the end of the month.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Mariners' Dee Gordon: Lands on IL with wrist contusion
Gordon was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right wrist contusion.
Gordon was out of the lineup for almost a week earlier this month after getting hit by a pitch on his right wrist, and apparently the injury is still an issue. It is unclear if Gordon will go for further tests on the wrist or if the team is just going to let him rest for 10 days. He will be eligible to return May 31. Shed Long was promoted from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Could return Tuesday
Diaz (hamstring) could return to the lineup Tuesday, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Diaz participated in pregame drills. Manager AJ Hinch said Diaz will be back Tuesday "if all goes well." With Jose Altuve (hamstring) nearing a rehab assignment, Diaz could have another four or five games as the starting second baseman, depending on when Altuve's rehab stint starts.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Continues on-base streak
Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and three runs in a 12-2 victory against the Blue Jays on Monday.
The Red Sox shortstop singled twice in the first three innings and then added a solo home run for good measure during the ninth. Bogaerts has reached base in 11 straight games, including in 25 of his last 43 plate appearances. He's batting .285, but this on-base streak has raised his on-base percentage to .380. Bogaerts also has eight home runs, 31 RBI, 34 runs and one steal in 172 at-bats this season.

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Remains out of lineup
Diaz (hamstring) is out of the lineup as expected Monday against the White Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Diaz has been battling a Grade 1 hamstring strain since Friday. Tony Kemp gets the start at second base in his absence.

Cliff Pennington SS | CIN
Yankees' Cliff Pennington: Hits injured list
Pennington (undisclosed) has been placed on the 7-day injured list, Conor Foley of The Times-Tribune reports.
The specifics of the injury weren't disclosed, but Pennington apparently tweaked something while taking a swing on a home run and looked uncomfortable running the bases a few days ago. The 34-year-old was hitting just .196 in 92 at-bats for the RailRiders.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Another pair of hits in win
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a win over the Twins on Sunday.
Crawford has now hit safely in four straight games, a stretch during which he's recorded three extra-base hits, including his first home run of the season. The 24-year-old has taken over everyday shortstop duties for the time being, as he's now logged nine straight starts at the expense of Tim Beckham. Crawford's 5-for-16 tally during the four-game set against the Twins raised his average 46 points to .257.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: Goes deep in loss
Adames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.
Adames' 342-foot shot to right was the second of two homers in the second inning for the Rays. The 23-year-old shortstop has been enjoying a successful May after getting his season off to a slow start, with Sunday's production representing his fourth multi-hit effort of the month and pushing his average over that span to an impressive .311.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Extends on-base streak
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Astros.
Bogaerts was key in a comeback win. The Red Sox had fallen behind, 3-1, before the shortstop delivered a two-out, game-tying run in the fifth inning. He later drove in the go-ahead run, again a two-out hit, doubling in Mookie Betts. Bogaerts has reached base safely in 10 straight games -- 22 times in his last 38 plate appearances. He's 13-for-38 (.342) with nine walks and nine runs scored during the streak.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Unlikely to play Monday
Diaz (hamstring) is not expected to play Monday but will undergo a full workout prior to the game against the White Sox, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Pending how Diaz responds to the workout, he could return to the lineup Tuesday or Wednesday. Diaz has been thrust into a full-time role while second baseman Jose Altuve works his way back from a hamstring injury. With George Springer (back) unavailable Monday, the Astros are dangerously thin on position players, so it wouldn't be shocking if Diaz attempts to play.
