Urena homered in his second straight game, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored Thursday for Single-A Dunedin.

One night after MLB.com ranked Richard Urena as the Blue Jays' top prospect, the 20-year-old shortstop showed why. The native of the Dominican Republic impressed last year during his first full season in the minors, cutting down his fielding errors while tallying 37 extra-base hits and hitting .262 over 121 games after committing to switch-hitting in 2014. This year, Urena has been even more consistent, batting .299/.344/.447 with eight homers, 18 doubles and seven triples in 93 Florida State League games. In the second half, he's 50-for-134 with a .413 on-base percentage and 13 extra-base hits over 33 games.

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a solo homer Sunday at the Angels.

Bogaerts smashed his 14th bomb of the campaign to cap off a five-run ninth inning in a thrilling Red Sox victory. He's now homered in three of his last five games to raise his slugging percentage to .486 on the campaign.

Pennington (hamstring) will be activated from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports.

Pennington has fully recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since late May, but it looks like the Angels will wait for Monday's trade deadline to pass before activating the shortstop and thereby adding him to the 40-man roster. Once he rejoins the club, Pennington figures to serve in a backup capacity at multiple infield spots.

Mondesi will make his sixth consecutive start at second base Sunday against the Rangers, MLB.com reports. He'll bat ninth in the order.

As was expected when he was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, Mondesi has been given a crack at the everyday role at second base after the struggling Whit Merrifield was demoted to the minors. Mondesi has gotten off to a promising 6-for-17 start at the dish while successfully stealing a base in his lone attempt, but his presence at the bottom of the Royals' lineup will limit his run-scoring opportunities.

O'Malley went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in Friday's 12-1 loss to the Cubs.

The Mariners' leadoff man allowed his team to avoid the indignity of a shutout with a ninth-inning single that plated Leonys Martin. The 28-year-old has a pair of multi-hit outings in the last five contests, but has only tallied two extra-base hits, both doubles, in his 11 hits during July.

Bogaerts had a big night on Friday, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and his 13th homer.

Bogaerts continues to thrive in the middle of the powerful Red Sox lineup as he lifted his average to .331 on the year. The 13th homer established a career high in taters for Bogaerts with a full two months still remaining in the season. The knock on Bogaerts after 2015 was his power after hitting only seven homers, but he has put that knock to rest a bit as he is on pace for 20 bombs in 2016.

Bogaerts hit his 12th homer of the season in Boston's 4-3 loss to Detroit on Wednesday.

The power game that was lacking his first few seasons is coming along. Bogaerts' .478 slugging percentage is a career high and the 12 homers matches the high-water mark he set in 2014. The difference being that Bogaerts' 12th homer in 2016 came in his 97th game while it took him 134 games to hit 12 homers in 2014. Enjoy this blossoming young hitter, who ranks 13th with a 4.0 WAR according to FanGraphs.

Mondesi went 0-for-3 in his MLB debut while batting ninth for the Royals on Tuesday night.

The Royals' offense has been pretty anemic this season (last in the AL in runs scored), so Mondesi's placement at the bottom of the order could be particularly problematic if he's unable to push his way to a more prominent spot in the coming weeks.

Mondesi is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

The Royals' top prospect will make his season debut Tuesday as he'll take over at second base and bat ninth in the order against Tyler Skaggs and the Halos. Mondesi has progressed quickly through the minors for a 20-year-old, most recently recording a .304/.328/.536 slash line at Triple-A Omaha. He'll likely get plenty of chances for playing time at second base, but he can also play shortstop when Alcides Escobar needs an off-day.

Mondesi was called up from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Mondesi, generally viewed as Kansas City's top prospect, had been on fire his past 10 games for Triple-A Omaha, batting .359 with eight runs, eight RBI and five steals. Soon to be 21 years old, he'll now be in line to make his major league (regular season) debut, which could come Tuesday against Tyler Skaggs and the Angels. Whit Merrifield was optioned in a corresponding roster move.
