Lindor went 4-for-4 Saturday with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored Saturday against Miami.

This could be an indicator that Lindor's recent slump is finally evaporating. Prior to Saturday's outing, he had posted just one RBI and two runs scored since August 22. He currently leads all shortstops with a .319 batting average and is second behind Xander Bogaerts with 86 runs. He also has 16 steals on the year.

Anderson (calf) is back in the lineup Saturday against the Twins, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

A bruised calf forced Anderson from Thursday's game but he will return Saturday after missing just one start. Anderson has hit at a higher clip and for more power than many were expecting when he was promoted earlier this season, but his impact on the basepaths has been limited. He's managed 18 steals between Triple-A and the majors (seven with the White Sox) after swiping 49 bags in 2015.

O'Malley is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

O'Malley started the last three games for the Mariners, but he will be displaced Friday by newcomer Ben Gamel, who will get the start in right field.

The White Sox are listing Anderson as day-to-day, so it's seemingly a short-term concern, but this could affect his availability for the next several games. Anderson went 1-for-2 before being replaced at shortstop by Tyler Saladino with Carlos Sanchez taking over at second base.

Wendle has been called up to the A's and will start at second base Wednesday against the Astros, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Wendle had spent the entire 2016 season at Triple-A Nashville where he hit .279 with a .776 OPS in 125 games. Wendle has shown a bit of pop and speed with 12 homers and 14 steals. With the A's not in contention this year, they are actively giving playing time to their young players and Wendle has a chance to get at least semi-regular at-bats in September.

Chang has returned to action for High-A Lynchburg after missing two weeks with a wrist injury.

He hasn't done much in the four games since returning for Lynchburg (three hits in 17 at-bats), but at least the wrist injury wasn't serious and it shouldn't affect him in 2017. Chang, 21, has been one of the most impressive hitters in the Carolina League this year, especially considering he was off the radar of most dynasty league owners coming into the season after slashing just .232/.293/.361 at Low-A in 2015.

Pennington is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers.

This will be the third time in the last four games that Pennington has taken a seat, as Kaleb Cowart will now have started at the keystone in back-to-back contests. Pennington's August performance at the plate hasn't done him many favors -- he has just one base hit in his last six games, and is just 9-for-56 on the month, striking out 23 times.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Royals.

Although he was overshadowed by the standout performances of Dustin Pedroia and Mookie Betts, Bogaerts broke out of an 0-for-10 stretch over his previous three games with Friday's production. He's come back down to earth in the second half and is slashing an anemic .215/.275/.258 in August, but his season average is still a stellar .308.

He went hitless Wednesday but still has eight base knocks over the last four games, with three of those going for extra bases (two doubles and a triple). The rookie shortstop's shown surprising pop since being called up (seven homers, 16 doubles), but his speed's shown up surprisingly little (six steals in eight tries over 64 games) and he has struggled mightily with his plate discipline (7:78 BB:K). Anderson was always a high-BABIP hitter in the minors but he'll find it hard to sustain his current .376 mark in that category as a major leaguer, so his long-term success will hinge on the improvement of his batting eye.
