Wendle went 4-for-6 with three runs scored Thursday against the Royals to raise his average to .349.

Wendle was called up to the A's in late August and has been starting most of the games at second base since, recently moving to the leadoff spot as well. While Wendle is hitting an impressive .349, it should be noted that he is also slugging .349 with all 15 of his hits going for singles. He displayed a little bit of pop and speed in the Triple-A this season with 12 bombs and 14 steals in 125 games, but he has yet to show any power at all so far in his short major league stint. He has swiped two bases in 13 games though, and if he continues to hit atop the A's lineup down the stretch, he could be of some value to those in deeper leagues needing to make a move in the runs scored category.

Lindor is out of the lineup Thursday against the White Sox, the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports.

He has started the last 20 games, hitting .325/.367/.434 with zero home runs and two steals over that stretch. Michael Martinez will get the start at shortstop and hit ninth Thursday.

Mondesi remains out of the lineup Tuesday, according to Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio.

This marks Mondesi's fourth straight day out of the lineup, so he should no longer be considered a regular for the time being. Christian Colon and Whit Merrifield have taken over the duties at the keystone in Mondesi's place.

Mondesi is not in the lineup Monday against the Athletics.

Mondesi had been holding onto to the starting spot at second base for some time now, but it seems that manager Ned Yost wants to give the 21-year-old a bit of time off to clear his head given his .151 batting average over the past 30 games. Christian Colon will take over the keystone for the top prospect as he sits out for the third game in a row.

Correa will be in the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.

Correa was limited to just one at-bat Sunday as he took the field for the first time since Tuesday, but it appears his removal had more to do with the lopsided score at the time he was taken out -- 9-0 in favor of the Cubs -- than the health of his shoulder. The Astros have not yet released their lineup for Monday's contest, but Correa figures to start at shortstop and hit cleanup as usual.

Correa (shoulder) is back in the lineup at shortstop and hitting in the cleanup spot Sunday against the Cubs, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.

Left shoulder inflammation had sidelined Correa for the previous four games. But as manager A.J. Hinch suggested earlier last week, the star shortstop was able to return to action before the series with the Cubs came to a conclusion. The injury had made it difficult for Correa to swing without much pain, but he's apparently made significant progress over the last couple of days. Though Correa may be in line for a day off at some point during the upcoming week, he appears primed to take back an everyday role.

Wendle is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, John Hickey of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Wendle has taken over as the Athletics' primary second baseman since his Aug. 31 promotion to the big leagues, going 7-for-26 (.269 average) with five RBI and two runs in his eight games. He'll give way to Chad Pinder on Sunday, but should continue to see the bulk of the duties at the keystone over the final few weeks of the season.

Mondesi is not in the lineup Sunday for the second day in a row, according to MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan.

Mondesi went just 1-for-17 over his last six games, so manager Ned Yost decided to give him back-to-back days off to clear his head. Christian Colon will serve as the Royals' second baseman Sunday afternoon.

The 21-year-old is sitting for the third time in five games, and manager Ned Yost said that he's looking to get Whit Merrifield and Christian Colon more involved between second base and third down the stretch. Mondesi's defense has been excellent, but he's batting just .175/.223/.263 in 127 plate appearances.

Correa (shoulder) is once again out of the Astros' lineup Saturday for their matchup with the Cubs.

While Correa is technically day-to-day, he has been struggling to even take swings since suffering a shoulder injury and will miss his fourth consecutive game Saturday. The team was originally optimistic the 21-year-old would be able to return to the lineup at some point for this weekend's series, but Alex Bregman will start in his place Saturday.
