Mondesi is out of the lineup Saturday against the White Sox, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

The 21-year-old is sitting for the third time in five games, and manager Ned Yost said that he's looking to get Whit Merrifield and Christian Colon more involved between second base and third down the stretch. Mondesi's defense has been excellent, but he's batting just .175/.223/.263 in 127 plate appearances.

Correa (shoulder) is once again out of the Astros' lineup Saturday for their matchup with the Cubs.

While Correa is technically day-to-day, he has been struggling to even take swings since suffering a shoulder injury and will miss his fourth consecutive game Saturday. The team was originally optimistic the 21-year-old would be able to return to the lineup at some point for this weekend's series, but Alex Bregman will start in his place Saturday.

Bogaerts went 2-for-6 with a home run and two RBI in Friday night's win over Toronto.

Bogaerts has been slumping for the past five weeks, as he's hitting just .217 over hit last 35 games, which has moved him out of the third spot in the batting order to second. Despite the slump, the 2016 season has been a good follow-up to his breakout 2015. He's added a power element to his offense, setting himself up to be a 20-homer bat out of the shortstop position.

Correa (shoulder) is technically day-to-day but he has been unable to take swings since suffering the injury, the Houston Chronicle's Angel Verdugo reports.

He can't extend his swing due to the shoulder inflammation that will sideline him for the third day in a row Friday. Correa said he is feeling better and making progress, but if he can't swing Friday, it's hard to envision him being in Saturday's lineup, although the hope is that he will return sometime during this weekend's series.

Correa missed the last two games with left shoulder inflammation, and though manager A.J. Hinch expressed optimism that the 21-year-old would be able to return to the lineup during the weekend set against the Cubs, it won't be for the series opener on Friday. It appears as though the shortstop is still eyeing a return in the upcoming series though, while Alex Bregman figures to be a likely candidate to receive the starts in Correa's place should he miss any more time.

Mondesi is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Twins, FOX Sports Kansas City's Joel Goldberg reports.

Mondesi is a joy to watch in the field, but he has been completely overmatched so far at the plate. The rookie is hitting .179/.227/.268 with one home run, seven steals and a 32 percent K-rate in 125 plate appearances. Whit Merrifield will man the keystone and hit eighth Wednesday.

Correa is dealing with inflammation in his left shoulder and will return to Houston to visit with team doctors, Biran McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Manager A.J. Hinch referred to Correa as "a little beat up right now" and intimated that the shortstop may have aggravated his shoulder while making a diving play earlier in the week. Correa will head back to Houston on Wednesday for further evaluation, but Hinch noted that he expects Correa to be back with the team Friday, though it's unclear when, exactly, he might return to the lineup. "We're optimistic that he's going to be able to play this weekend against the Cubs at some point," Hinch said. Alex Bregman will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday in Correa's place.

Correa is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Indians, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

It'll be a rare day of rest for Correa, who hasn't been out of the lineup since June 10-12 against the Rays. He'll be replaced at shortstop by Alex Bregman on Wednesday, and it would be a major surprise if Correa isn't back in action for Thursday's series finale, barring some sort of injury.

Mondesi is out of the lineup Monday against the Twins, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.

Mondesi went 1-for-9 with two runs scored during the Royals' recently completed three-game series with the Tigers, dropping his season average to .182 for the season. The Royals continue to exercise patience with the young middle infielder, but with the team in the midst of a tight race for a wild-card spot, Mondesi could be at risk of losing playing time down the stretch.

Wendle is out of the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox.

Wendle has started in two of the Athletics' four games since his Aug. 31 call-up, going 1-for-8 with a run scored. It appears manager Bob Melvin will deploy Wendle on the strong side of a platoon at second base with Chad Pinder.
