Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Yields 10 runs
Mahle (2-10) allowed 10 runs (six earned) on 12 hits with no walks and two strikeouts across 4.1 innings while taking a loss against the Rockies on Sunday.
The 24-year-old yielded four unearned runs in the first inning and then threw three straight scoreless frames. But with his outing seemingly back on track, Mahle then allowed six runs in the fifth. Mahle faced seven batters in the frame and only recorded one out. The defeat gives him his 10th loss of the season, and he owns a 4.82 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 101 strikeouts in 97 innings. He will look to turn his season around at home against the Cardinals on Friday.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Wins despite allowing eight runs
Senzatela (8-6) allowed eight runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts across 5.1 innings while earning a victory against the Reds on Sunday.
It's not often that a starting pitcher can give up eight runs and earn the win, but that's the kind of baseball they've been playing at Coors Field the last couple days. The Rockies and Reds combined to score 45 runs in the final two games of the weekend series. Unfortunately, it's been all too common for Senzatela to give up his fair share of runs this season. This was his fifth outing of the year where he allowed at least seven runs, and yet Senzatela has a winning record. His other numbers, though, are ugly -- 5.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 52 strikeouts with 43 walks in 91.2 innings this season. Senzatela is scheduled to pitch again Friday at the Yankees.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Padres' Cal Quantrill: Hurls six scoreless innings
Quantrill did not factor into the decision against Atlanta on Sunday, throwing six scoreless innings and giving up three hits and one walk while striking out three.
In his eighth start of the season, Quantrill kept Atlanta's offense at bay, allowing only a trio of singles along with one walk and one hit-batsman. He wasn't particularly overpowering, whiffing only three batters, but nonetheless matched fellow rookie Mike Soroka by keeping runs off the board until he was lifted after his 90th pitch. With the scoreless outing, Quantrill lowered his ERA to 4.21 -- the lowest it has been since his third appearance this season. He'll try to build upon the strong start when he heads to Chicago to face the Cubs on Friday in his next scheduled start.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Fans career high in victory
Soroka (10-1) earned the win versus San Diego on Sunday, hurling seven scoreless innings and allowing six hits and one walk while striking out nine.
Soroka kept Padres hitters off-kilter all afternoon, establishing a career high with nine strikeouts while tossing 62 of his 83 pitches for strikes and inducing 18 swings-and-misses. He was hit in the hand by a pitch from opposing starter Cal Quantrill in the third inning but showed no ill effects, completing seven innings for the fifth time in 16 starts this season. The 21-year-old sensation has been dominant on the road in his first major-league season, with Sunday's performance raising his record to 6-0 away from home while lowering his road ERA to a minuscule 1.13. He'll carry a sparkling 10-1 overall record along with a 2.24 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next start, at home Friday against the Nationals.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Records fifth save
Martinez allowed one walk through 0.1 innings to record his fifth save in a 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Martinez entered the game with two outs in the ninth inning and two runners on base. The 27-year-old walked the first batter he faced to load the bases, but he forced a flyout to nail down his fifth save of the season. Martinez has saves in his last three appearances and hasn't allowed a run with a 4:1 K:BB in that span.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Strikes out seven
Wainwright (6-7) gave up four hits and one walk while striking out seven through seven scoreless innings to take the win against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Wainwright delivered a gem to out-duel Zack Greinke on his way to his sixth win of the season. The 37-year-old has been great in his last seven starts, posting a 2.98 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 10.2 K/9. Wainwright will make his next start Friday against the Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Eyeing September return
Hill (forearm) is set to resume throwing Thursday in Philadelphia and is targeting a September return, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
As expected, Hill will start throwing within the next week, and he'll toss from 60 feet for the next two weeks before progressing any further. He's been on the 10-day injured list since June 20 due to a left forearm strain, though if all goes according to plan, it appears the southpaw will take the mound again this season for the Dodgers.
-
Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Gives up five runs
Greinke (10-4) gave up five runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out six through six innings to take the loss against the Cardinals on Sunday.
Greinke forced 12 swinging strikes but allowed too many hits to be effective including a two-run home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the third inning. The 35-year-old allowed his first runs since June 24, and he has only walked two batters in his last 40.1 innings. Greinke will make his next start Friday against the Brewers at Chase Field.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Wins third straight decision
Quintana (7-7) picked up the win Sunday against the Pirates, yielding three runs on six hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out four.
Quintana has now picked up wins in his last three starts, and in that stretch, he's allowed just six earned runs over 19 innings of work. The lefty struggled for much of June (5.17 ERA in the month), but he looks to be turning a corner and could be primed for a good second half. Quintana will take a 4.21 ERA into his next outing, which is scheduled for Saturday against the Padres.

Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Takes third straight loss
Alcantara (4-9) yielded four runs on nine hits and two walks over six frames Sunday, striking out six and taking the loss against the Mets.
Things went bad for Alcantara early as Jeff McNeil took him deep on the very first pitch of the game. He later allowed a pair of runs in the fourth inning and another in the sixth. After lowering his ERA to 3.51 after his June 21 win, it's already back up to 3.94. Alcantara will get a tough test on the road against the Dodgers on Saturday.
