Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Earns win in short outing
DeGrom (5-7) allowed one run on six hits and three walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and earning the win over Miami.
DeGrom usually has a stellar outing and gets let down by his offense, but this time the team earned him a victory despite his lackluster performance. The nine baserunners he allowed were his most since May 17 and it was his second straight outing with three walks. Still, he owns a terrific 144:28 K:BB and 3.21 ERA. DeGrom will take the mound in San Francisco on Saturday.

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Returning to bullpen
Wacha appears to have moved back to the bullpen coming out of the All-Star break, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Daniel Ponce de Leon filled in after Adam Wainwright (back) was scratched from Friday's start and will remain in the starting rotation after allowing one run over 6.2 frames in the spot start. There's been no official announcement on Wacha from manager Mike Shildt, but he isn't listed as one of the Cardinals' probable starters for the upcoming week. The 28-year-old has a 5.54 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 62:39 K:BB through 76.1 innings this season

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Scoreless inning of relief
Peralta struck out three batters over a scoreless inning of relief in Saturday's victory over the Giants.
Peralta was able to work around a couple one-out walks by eliminating any balls in play from the other three batters he faced in his frame. Peralta started eight games in the first half, but he came out of the bullpen in his last seven appearances, and figures to continue working in relief with the Brewers' rotation set coming out of the All-Star break.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Reds' Alex Wood: Works two innings in rehab start
Wood (back) covered two innings in his second rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Friday. He gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and no walks while striking out two.
Per the Associated Press, manager David Bell said that he was satisfied with the reports he received on Wood, stating that the lefty pitched better than the results would indicate. Wood, who has been on the injured list all season, tossed 51 pitches (34 strikes) in the outing. He'll likely make at least two more starts in the minors before the Reds consider adding him to the big-league rotation.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Rough return to rotation
Freeland didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 17-9 loss to the Reds, giving up five runs on nine hits over four innings while striking out three.
A delay of over three hours due to rain and lightning disrupted whatever routine Freeland might have been trying to put together before his first big-league start since May 30, but despite the fairly quick exit after 74 pitches (53 strikes), there were some positive takeaways from his performance -- namely that he kept the ball in the yard on a night when the two teams combined for six homers. Freeland's next start will come on the road Friday against the Yankees, posing another tough test for his sinker.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Quality start against GIants
Davies didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants, allowing one unearned run on two hits and two walks over six innings while striking out five.
The right-hander delivered his first quality start in over a month and seventh of the season, but Davies wasn't rewarded for his efforts as Madison Bumgarner was just as sharp for San Francisco. Davies will carry a 2.89 ERA and 68:32 K:BB through 102.2 innings into his next outing Thursday in Arizona.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: No-decision versus Braves
Lucchesi didn't factor in the decision Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings versus the Braves.
It was a so-so start for the 26-year-old, who held his own in the back-and-forth contest. Lucchesi has a 3.92 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 101 innings this season. He takes a 7-4 record and a 96:28 K:BB heading into his next start, a road date scheduled for next Saturday against the Cubs.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Fires five strong innings
Stripling (4-3) earned the win Saturday in Boston after giving up one run on four hits over five innings. He struck out seven and did not issue a walk.
Stripling surrendered four runs in both of his last two starts, but he was able to stifle the Red Sox on Saturday. The 29-year-old has a 3.65 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 69:19 K:BB through 66.2 innings and lines up to start Thursday in Philadelphia.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Tosses quality start
Teheran allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and walk over six innings. He struck out six and did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Padres.
Teheran allowed two homers -- to Manny Machado and Francisco Mejia -- in the start, but otherwise bottled up the Padres' offense effectively. The 28-year-old has a 3.71 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with a 97:52 K:BB in 106.2 innings this season. He owns a 5-6 record heading into his next start, facing the Nationals on Thursday.

Zac Gallen SP | ARI
Marlins' Zac Gallen: Walks five in no-decision
Gallen allowed two runs on four hits with five walks and five strikeouts across five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.
Through his first three starts, walks were a little issue but not a significant one for Gallen. On Saturday, it was a major problem, as he averaged one free pass per inning. Somehow though, none of those walks scored. It's still a small sample size, but Gallen now has 10 walks in 17 innings; one has to figure he can't continue this pace and experience success. He is 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 21 strikeouts over four starts. Gallen is scheduled to pitch on the road against the Dodgers next Friday.
