Martinez (0-3) allowed six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five in five innings as he took the loss against the Phillies on Friday.

Martinez didn't allow any baserunners in four of his five innings Friday, but he unraveled in the second inning and allowed nine runners to reach base in the frame. The right-hander has lasted five innings in each of his first three outings of the season, but he's given up at least three runs in each of his starts. His next start should come on the road against Washington on Wednesday.

Davies (1-2) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out one in four innings as he was charged with the loss Friday against Atlanta.

Davies was sharp in his Cubs debut, but he's struggled in each of his last two starts. He was able to limit his run production slightly better than he did in his last outing, but he still allowed 10 baserunners prior to his removal. Through his first three starts, Davies has posted a 10.32 ERA and 2.21 WHIP in 11.1 innings. The right-hander will attempt to turn things around at home against the Mets on Wednesday.

Wright allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings in Friday's win over the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.

Wright performed well in his season debut Friday, as he only gave up runs in the second and fifth innings prior to his removal. Although he only threw 78 pitches against the Cubs, it was still an encouraging start to the right-hander's season. Wright should receive at least one more turn in the rotation, and he lines up to make his next start at home against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Lorenzen (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection for his right shoulder strain and is resting for now, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. "It's super early, so I'm just trying not to move it around, let the PRP kind of soak into the right places," Lorenzen said.

Lorenzen is eligible to return May 31, but the Reds are hoping for an early June return without any setbacks. He's still hoping to return as a starter too, but that's too far out for the Reds to guarantee at this point.

Webb will move back to the rotation for a pair of starts while Johnny Cueto (lat) is on the injured list, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Webb opened the season with a pair of starts, giving up six runs on 15 hits in 10.1 innings, before moving to the bullpen. He's needed again in the rotation temporarily but will likely return to the bullpen in late April unless another injury strikes the Giants' rotation.

Cueto (lat) is expected to miss two starts, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Cueto left his Wednesday start against the Reds with the injury, which was revealed to be a Grade 1 lat strain following further tests. The given timeline means he'll probably return either in the last few days of April or in early May. Logan Webb will fill in for him in the rotation in the meantime.

DeGrom and the Mets won't play Friday at Colorado as the game was postponed due to snow, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The 32-year-old's start will be pushed back another day after Thursday's series finale at Philadelphia was also postponed due to inclement weather. DeGrom should finally take the mound during Saturday's doubleheader against the Rockies.

Hendricks (illness) is expected to start Sunday against Atlanta, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Hendricks was scratched from his start Tuesday in Milwaukee due to an illness, though he's continued to test negative for COVID-19 and hasn't been placed on any injured list. As long as that remains true until Sunday, he'll take the mound for his third start of the year. He's allowed three runs on eight hits in nine innings over his first two starts, striking out 10 while walking four.

Smyly's forearm inflammation isn't considered particularly serious and may only cost him one start, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Smyly has had his fair share of injuries, including Tommy John surgery in 2017, so there would seem to be some justification for pessimism about his latest arm troubles. His team doesn't appear to be worried, however, with manager Brian Snitker noting that the lefty could have pitched through the injury if it occurred later in the season. For now, Atlanta is being cautious, sending him to the injured list and recalling Kyle Wright to take his place in the rotation.

Smyly was placed on the 10-day injured list with left forearm inflammation Friday.

Smyly hasn't gotten off to a great start this season, allowing nine runs (seven earned) in 11 innings through his first two turns in the rotation, and it's possible the injury is part of the problem. Forearm issues sometimes serve as the first warning sign of a very serious injury for pitchers, though it's not yet clear if that's the case with this particular problem. Kyle Wright was recalled to take his place Friday against the Cubs in a corresponding move.
