Webb (shoulder) is feeling better and is expected to make his next start, which is lined up for Saturday against the Dodgers, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Webb dealt with shoulder soreness in his start Monday against the Reds, but the issue doesn't appear to be a significant one. The Giants haven't officially confirmed that he'll take his turn in the rotation, but they appear to be optimistic.

Corbin was activated from the paternity list as expected ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Cubs, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Corbin was away from the team for four days, which coincided nicely with the gap between his starts. The lefty's 6.19 ERA on the season remains quite poor, but that's mainly the product of a disastrous pair of outings to begin the year, as he owns a 3.00 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over his last four trips to the mound. Paolo Espino was optioned in a corresponding move.

DeGrom (side) felt good following a bullpen session Tuesday, but the Mets wouldn't commit to activating him off the injured list when first eligible Friday against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

DeGrom has missed two of his last three turns in the rotation, though the Mets remain confident his side issue isn't a major problem, something an MRI confirmed last week. It's possible he's activated for Friday's start, but manager Luis Rojas mentioned other options such as another bullpen session or a rehab game. The team will likely provide an update Wednesday once it's clear how deGrom's side responded to Tuesday's session.

Marlins manager Don Mattingly said Tuesday that Sanchez (shoulder) has increased his throwing distance off flat ground to 120 feet, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Though he's steered clear of setbacks since being diagnosed with right shoulder inflammation in early April, Sanchez has been trudging along slowly in the recovery process. The right-hander was cleared to up his throwing distance to 105 feet at the beginning of the month, but he's only taken a marginal step forward two weeks later. Given the ramp-up time he'll require once he's eventually cleared to face hitters, Sanchez is likely at least a month away from making his 2021 MLB debut.

Cabrera will get the green light to face hitters for the first time in 2021 if he's able to complete a bullpen session Tuesday without any setbacks. The Marlins have been bringing the 23-year-old right-hander along slowly since he was diagnosed with an inflamed nerve in his biceps at the onset of spring training.

Greene was named the Double-A South Player of the Week after he posted a 1.64 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 11 innings over his last two starts with Chattanooga.

Despite sitting out the entire 2019 season following Tommy John surgery and then not pitching in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor-league season, Greene hasn't missed a beat in his return to competitive action. Through his first three outings at Chattanooga, Greene has used his blazing triple-digit fastball to rack up 25 strikeouts while holding hitters to a .143 average over 16 innings. The 21-year-old right-hander looks to be neck and neck with Double-A rotation mate Nick Lodolo as the best pitching prospect in Cincinnati's organization.

Mikolas (shoulder) worked six scoreless innings for Triple-A Memphis in his most recent rehab outing Sunday. He gave up four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

Making his third rehab start for Memphis, Mikolas not only worked deeper into Sunday's contest than he had in the previous two outings, but he was also more effective. He pumped in 57 of his 80 pitches for strikes, and that sort of workload suggests he's sufficiently stretched out for starting duty at the big-league level. Expect the Cardinals to reinstate him from the 10-day injured list and have him start one of their three games against the Cubs this upcoming weekend.

Soroka will be reevaluated in 2-to-4 weeks after undergoing a "cleanout" procedure on his Achilles tendon Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. "I guess everything went well, but it'll be [up to] a month before they know if everything takes and how he'll be," manager Brian Snitker said Monday.

Until the right-hander gets reevaluated and is deemed to be back on track in his recovery, there will be no clear timetable for his return to the Atlanta rotation. The best-case scenario for Soroka at this point would likely have him back on the roster following the All-Star break, but if he has any further setbacks, he could wind up losing the entire campaign.

Darvish (4-1) earned the win Monday against the Rockies after tossing seven scoreless innings, giving up four hits and fanning 10.

Darvish has looked absolutely dominant this season and he's now tossed two straight scoreless outings. In fact, he's allowed one or fewer runs in all but two of his starts and owns a sterling 1.81 ERA across 54.2 innings. His next start is scheduled for the upcoming weekend series against the Mariners at home.

Gray (4-4) was tagged with the loss Monday against the Padres after allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits and a walk while fanning one across 5.2 innings.

Gray was coming off two straight outings allowing two or fewer runs, but the wheels came off in this one -- he gave up season-worst marks in runs allowed, earned runs allowed and strikeouts while also tying his season-worst mark in the hits department. He still owns a 3.48 ERA, but this was a clear step in the wrong direction for the right-hander. Gray is slated to start during the upcoming weekend series against the Diamondbacks at home.
