Webb (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a side session Wednesday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old played catch Sunday after landing on the injured list a couple days earlier, and he'll return to mound work Wednesday. Webb remains a possibility to rejoin the rotation when eligible to be activated Friday, but if he needs more time, Scott Kazmir would likely receive another start.

Gutierrez will be called up from Triple-A Louisville to start Friday against the Cubs, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old was on the restricted list to open the season while serving the end of an 80-game suspension for PEDs, and he'll make his first start in the majors Friday. Gutierrez has pitched well at Louisville through three starts this year, posting a 2.65 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB over 17 innings.

Syndergaard (elbow) was removed from Tuesday's rehab start with Low-A St. Lucie for precautionary reasons due to right elbow soreness.

The right-hander lasted only one inning before being lifted and appeared to show decreased fastball velocity as he worked through the frame. The exit is considered precautionary, but that does little to quell concerns with Syndergaard on his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in March 2020. According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Mets aren't overly concerned by this development, though the 28-year-old will still undergo an MRI.

Syndergaard (elbow) was removed from his rehab start with Low-A St. Lucie on Tuesday after one inning, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The 28-year-old went four innings during his first rehab outing last Wednesday, and he was expected to build on that Tuesday. According to Healey, Syndergaard saw his fastball velocity drop to the low 90s by the end of his lone inning, which could be a worrying development as he returns from Tommy John surgery.

Kelly (shoulder) is healthy following his shoulder injury and has been assigned to Double-A Amarillo, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Kelly figures to make his Double-A debut in the coming days after pitching in the lower levels of minors during the 2018 and 2019 campaigns. The right-hander, who was a member of the Diamondbacks' 60-man summer camp in 2020, will look to continue his ascent through the organization.

DeGrom (side) was officially activated from the injured list Tuesday ahead of his start against the Rockies, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

This comes as no surprise, as it was reported earlier in the week that the Mets' ace would take the ball Tuesday against Colorado. DeGrom is not expected to be on any sort of strict pitch count during his return, though New York will likely be cautious with its star right hander.

Walker (side) was seen throwing live batting practice prior to Tuesday's game against the Rockies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Walker left his start on May 17 with soreness in his side, but it appears that the right hander's stint on the injured list could be coming to an end soon. The Mets have yet to announce when Walker could rejoin the rotation, but they currently don't anticipate that he will need a rehab start.

The Rockies reinstated Freeland (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list prior to his start Tuesday against the Mets.

Colorado optioned reliever Lucas Gilbreath to Triple-A Albuquerque following Monday's series opener to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Freeland. The 28-year-old southpaw will be making his 2021 debut in Flushing after he required nearly two months of rehab for a left shoulder strain sustained late in spring training. Freeland built up to 79 pitches and six innings in his final rehab start with Albuquerque on Thursday, so he shouldn't face any major restrictions in Tuesday's outing.

DeGrom (side) won't have an official pitch count when he gets activated from the injured list and returns to the rotation Tuesday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports. "We want to see how the game goes," manager Luis Rojas said Monday. "He's going to tell us going through the game, going inning by inning. ... [The message is] go ahead and pitch and do what you do, and once we get a feel from different views, I think there's when a decision is going to be made."

It's reassuring for fantasy GMs who plan on plugging deGrom back into their lineups right away that he won't be held back too much, but it still wouldn't be a surprise if the Mets' ace comes out of the game a little earlier than he otherwise might after lasting only five innings in his last outing May 9. On the season, deGrom sports an otherworldly 0.68 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 65:7 K:BB through 40 frames over six starts.

Kim (1-2) was tagged with the loss Monday against the White Sox after allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while fanning five across 5.2 innings.

Kim fell just one out short of recording what would've been his first quality start of the season, and it's worth noting that the left-hander has yet to complete six innings in any of his outings this season. He has yet to give up more than three runs in seven appearances, though, and he will carry a 3.09 ERA into his next start, scheduled for Saturday against the Diamondbacks on the road.
